Mama went to the vet to pick up six months of Heartworm Meds, and 6 months of Flea/Tick meds, because in Florida they are a must.
She came home ranting about how much the cost was and Daddy asked HOW MUCH WAS IT?
$$$$ 209.00 $$$$
WHAT? when she started those same meds for Max, 1st Dog of our home, it was $49.00 for both, that was 1986.
She calmed down a little when she did the math and found out I am protected from heartworms and fleas/ticks for $34.82 a month, that is 17.41 per pill. Same Dollars, Sounds Better! She is a little worked up because she made my annual visit to the vet for Oct 10th and that is when the big bucks come, and she once again decides my Worth...
She says I am worth whatever and however much it costs to keep me here and healthy. but she does have to vent to keep from exploding that a pill can cost 17.41 per pill. Just Sayin!

Vet care is the most expensive part of having a pet. More than food or anything else. But they are worth it.
Gosh that does seem super expensive. Every time Gail pays a bill at the vets she says she realizes how much she has taken our National Health Service (for humans) for granted!
Toodle-oo!
Nobby.
It's no wonder that so many animals don't get the vet care they need. They push the pet insurance around here pretty heavy.
Of course, you are worth it, Beau! You are in fact priceless!
Woofs,
Ollie
Beau yes, you are worth it! The pills are expensive but if it protects you from getting sick they are worth the price. HUGS, have a happy day!

You are worth every cent, Beau, and you are kind to let mum vent about it. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
We know you're worth any expense, Beau. Of course, the bigger the pet the more expensive they are to feed and medicate.
EVERYTHING is so high Beau...I hope and purr you love that 17.41 pill and never ever NO never spit it out
Hugs Cecilia
You are priceless sweet Beau. Vet costs are way outrageous these days.
It's a lovely photo Beau. Yes, we have used those meds too here in CA for a few of our dogs. That's true, you are worth whatever it costs!
Hi hi hi! Ojo here! We Dogs are priceless! (My person says that Bad Leg cost her $11,000. Is that a lot?)
We agree, Beau - you and we are priceless. Our Mom tries to buy our heartworm and flea and tick meds when the company is offering rebates. It makes for a lot of money put out at one time, but savings overall.

Over here the problem is compounded by vets being increasingly bought up by 1 of 3 or 4 large corporate vet businesses and they are really only about profit.
Dear Beau, you are worth every single cent ... and more! Granted our girls together may not weigh as much as you, but their last 6 months supply of flea/tick meds (Simperica chewables) was $235. Yikes, right?
Sure, we could spend $ on something else but it wouldn't be nearly as satisfying knowing your (and their) health is protected. Big hugs!
Worth every penny I am sure mama would say, but oh my!
