Homeless Animals

Today is International Homeless Animal Awareness Day.

Mama says the shelter I came from and Big boy came from and Cooper came from is now today beyond their maximum holds.
there are 233 dogs and 62 cats, that is just ONE of our shelters. We have SEVEN shelters in our city and they are all full to the Max..

What Dogs Want and I am thankful I have it.
I was dumped at the same shelter TWICE and dumped again by the people who adopted me.
Now I have had Mama and Daddy for almost 4 years.

How sad, and it just gets worse.

That's a lot of dogs and cats that need forever homes. How sad that you were taken to the same shelter so many times. I'm so glad your mom and dad finally found you.

That's so unfortunate for all those pets. Well done for spreading the word, Beau and mum. Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx

I am so happy for you and your Mama. How sad the shelter has way too many dogs. Thanks for the info and sharing the day. HUGS, have a happy day!

Awww, this is very important and so glad you found a loving home dear Beau. We were our little dog’s third humans when she came to live with us. She brought us a lot of joy for the next 15 years, just like you bring joy to mama and daddy.

You were one of the lucky ones in the end, Beau, and we are so happy that you are in the best home ever. We feel so sad at the thought of all the animals in shelters and so angry at the people who abandon them without a second thought.

Woofs,
Ollie

How terrible that there are so many homeless dogs in your town. And how fortunate you have been, Beau, to find such a wonderful family.

So many in need. But we must never give up on there being a home for us all, nor give up caring for those less fortunate, be they humans or companions.

It's usually tough this time of year for shelters everywhere. We're glad we were rescued from shelters too.

The plight of these furbabies is heartbreaking! I wish more people had hearts like you and Bob.
Like Hospice workers, I believe shelter volunteers are angels on earth. It sounds really selfish, but I can't wrap my head around volunteering because I'd come home a) with a carload full, or b) sobbing my eyes out every day. I/we don't have a lot of $, but animal rescues are first on my list of charities; I hope that counts.

It really is sad that the shelters are so full. It our county NO VETS will work with feral cats either so it's difficult to do the spay or neuter thing. The only place that will do it on feral cat is the county animal control and they are now booking for January 2025.

That is so sad how full they are. I want to adopt badly but Mark isn't in total agreement. Beau, you are so blessed to be with Mama and Daddy.

So many pets do not have happy ends. How wonderful that Batty is better.

Maybe they knew your mama needed you more than they did.
