I love this dog with all my heart, he is firmly embedded deep into my heart and mind and I am in his. He is my Heart Dog
We are bonded, We "get" each other!
We understand each other, we "commune", we are canine/human soul mates.
When I look at this face, my heart feels JOY.
I can never take enough photos of him.
The past 2 weeks, I have noticed subtle changes in him.
It has been 7 months since the diagnosis of torn ACL, bad knees, left hip displaced and the right hip is not good.
7 months since the vet said do not walk him, no going outside without a leash to keep him from running.
Mama did not listen. 7 days of rest and she slowly added 500 feet every 3 days.
Day 8 he was back to walking and we have not missed a day since then.
We have had a wonderful life, we have a wonderful life.
I am sensing changes, he walks a little slower each day, I can't describe the change, I just feel it.
He leans on me more, he seeks me out more.
Bob doesn't see it. But my heart is connected to his and I feel what he feels, just as he feels what I feel.

I hope you are wrong too. But The Mad One is seldom, if ever wrong. And the Mad One's mate is usually in denial. But Beau may still have many more years ahead, we do not know, only God does.
we hope with you... sometimes we "see" things through our love, but they aren't what we fear... maybe this ole saying loves is blind is true?
One doesn't need a macro to see close up what is happening to a beloved dog.

I truly believe you are a doggie empath ... as far as Beau's concerned, that is. I, too, pray you're misreading his signals; perhaps this ridiculous heat is taking its toll?

We have our paws crossed that this feeling will pass. You probably did some good in helping Beau strengthen his muscles with the gradual increase in walking. It's too bad he doesn't like the pool since that would be the best exercise for him.
I hope you're wrong too, Sandra. I know you love him so and he loves you even more. He's lucky to have you and he knows it. You're the bomb.

I too hope you are wrong. My Alex is a rescue and they guessed his age at 4 when I adopted him. He has been with me for 11 years. He is a little fella and has me wrapped around his paw! He has slowed down, so have I! I'll keep handsome Beau in my prayers.
We all slow down mama Sandra, even you guys humans, but we still find ways to make each other laugh like we used to when we had more bounce; even if by only a look. He's giving you one now....xxx Mr T

I get it I felt the same with Disco. You are probably right - but hopefully the not walking will not happen real fast. Prayers.
We can easily see how closely you two are bonded. Lightning and Misty get Dasuquin chews daily to help with thos damaged joints. They do seem to help.
