Going Purple March 26

the purpose of a day for Awareness of Epilepsy is to help people understand the disease.

In the past, some thought the person was being attacked by demons, some thought they were prophets, others said epilepsy is contagious and only children can have epilepsy. these are all found under The History Of Epilepsy

Celebrated annually on March 26, Epilepsy Awareness Day, or Purple Day, was created to increase the public's understanding of this brain disorder and to eliminate the fear and stigma surrounding it.

Today is also Blog4Peace day

I had no idea about epilepsy day! I think purple is also for something else as well. You two are not only purple, you are glowing! Have you been around any nuclear reactors lately?

I didn't know there was an epilepsy awareness day. My cousins wife has it. How horrible it must have been for people long ago before it was understood.

I was aware of this day - I had two friends at school with epilepsy and, much later, a workmate. It is indeed a scary thing to witness, but once one learns what is to be done if a fit takes place, things improve greatly. As indeed has the management of it generally and fitting is now much less an occurrence once appropriately handled. Thanks for bringing it to notice today Beau Boy!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

It is important to raise awareness of epilepsy, so often misunderstood ... I have sadly witnessed seizures and they are frightening beyond description.

Beau, you and momma look positively fetching! I'd no idea ... and wish I hadn't given away all my purple clothing. One of my friend's little dogs, Lucy, has been diagnosed with epilepsy. Shannon posted last night, it's soooo hard to witness her seizures.

Peace and a total cure for epilepsy would be totally wonderful.

Beau, you look great in your purple flowers, you should wear them more often. Mom says that she had a friend who died of epilepsy in her early 20's. It's another terrible condition to have. XOX Xena and Lucu
