Really Mama?

All I want is a peaceful nap

Found on Facebook
disturbing a person while they are sleeping
can increase their risk of permanent brain damage.
Is it true or just a myth?

PEE SS  I stepped in a hole and stumbled, a tiny hole, while walking Sunday and now I am limping again. Will keep you posted.

we think that is true... let sleeping dogs lie was the motto in old times ;O)

Oh dear Beau, you must be very, VERY careful where you put those precious paws. We hope your limp gets better soon.

I don't know about disturbing a persons sleep but it sounds like a good excuse to keep someone from interrupting a perfectly good nap.

That facebook thing is definitely true for cats, so I reckon it's true for dogs. It doesn't stop me disturbing the sleep of my humans if I want something (food being the primary objective) though. They should think of my needs before they go to sleep. paw smacks Mr T

Oh Beau boy, you are high on my POTP list again! Do step carefully...

Now as to that other rather serious question - the sensationalist headline is just that. However, it comes out of some element of truth in so far as disrupted sleep is fraught with multifold consequences... (That's a very good paper, worth reading!) Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

Don't know about brain damage to the person awakened but I bet the person doing the waking might get a bop on the head.

Oh Beau, I'm so sorry you're hurting once more. Hope you feel everyone's prayers and good thoughts!

I had to chuckle about the risk of brain damage. The first thing I thought of is sleep-deprived parents with a brand-new baby. Remembering 1970, I was a walking, talking zombie.

We're so sorry you found that tiny hole and stepped in it, Beau. We thinks holes are more a danger to you than permanent brain damage, BOL! XOX Xena and Lucy

The risk of brain damage isa lot higher if the sleeper has a heavy object close to hand.
