Mommy speaking here today.
We adopted Big Boy, 8 months and 1 day ago. He did not play or run or wander in the yard.
Slowly over a few months he started to change. I taught him to play ball in the living room but he only played at 6:30 am for some reason. He never started the game, I had to do it.
After 5 months, he started to START the game each morning by grabbing the ball and tossing it himself.
this past week each day, he would start to play and bring me the ball, mid afternoon, mid morning. WOW! Over and over I tried to get him to play outside with the ball. NOPE!
Today, Sunday June 2nd, 2019 at 6:45 AM the three of us were in the back yard. He started to WANDER.. up and down, all over the yard, behind the bushes For The First Time Ever...the only thing he did in the back yard was PP and POOPOO and lay on dirt or deck.
Shocked, I said Bob Big is Wandering. We watched in amazement. He wandered from fence to fence, and back and forth.
He came out from behind the tree with an OLD faded tennis ball that Jake must have hidden there. He ran up to me and shook his head, that means lets Play, you take the ball and throw it. I did, and for five minutes we played BALL OUTSIDE.... WOW! Moments keep happening... No photos, I was afraid to open the door and get the camera for fear he would stop.

What was that moon landing quote? "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." What do you say, let's just substitute "Big" for man. (OK, that's a stretch, but it's the first thing that popped into my mind.)
YAY for playing ball outside. BB has made himself right at home and is comfy there. I am so happy you adopted BB!

Wow, that's awesome. He just keeps loving life more and more.
That's wonderful! He's just feeling'safer' more and more. But are you sure it was 8 months ago? Seems it was only a few weeks ago that 'Gary' found his family.
