There is a new duck in town... I could not find a monkey like the one Big destroyed. Five Dollar Duck has given us a million laughs. It doesn't Squeak, it HONKS, exactly like a goose
The first 10 times he accidently made it honky, he would jump, his ears went up and he was on POINT.
The sound is just like boys make when they put their hands under there arm pits and make it sqawk.
He loves it so much, to get him to stop honking and playing with it, I have to hide it in the closet.
For 2 nights I put it up in the closet, but he sits and stares at the closet. Last night I let him keep it out and he will not lay down, he is afraid I will take it.
He has never carried a toy, or loved anything. Now it is by his side and we had to make him lay it down to go out in the yard when we came home today. He would not leave the door, just stood staring at it inside the door.
for the first time ever today he did not watch me eat, did not watch Bob cook. He did lay it down and eat, and is now on his bed guarding it. we think he thinks it is alive.
Each morning and evening we play ball or toss the monkey. Now he will not play, will not let me toss it. He is FOCUSED on that duck.
BOB says, while I was at my Thursday Tops meeting he took Big for his Walk. Big had the DUCK in his mouth and would not put it down. In harness, he just sat with it. Bob said he had a hard time getting him to leave it. When I got home I brought him his burger, then we went out to sit in the sun. he stood at the door with the duck and would not go out unless he got to bring it. We left him inside. After a while he left it in the kitchen, and when we came in, he has it now. Never seen anything like this

This morning while getting the ball out from under thet able, he turned the lamp over. We stood it up. and picked up assorted remotes and replaced on table. The TV was playing and when I changed the channel it went to NO SIGNAL. eveidently he had stepped on the remote and removed the Source .

All I have to say is this. You had better go out now and buy more of the ducks while they still sell them. I am serious. If and when something happens to his duck, he will be devastated. Anything I love, they eventually stop selling it. This story is amazing! It is like it is his baby. The first picture is great, he looks nervous that the duck will be taken. Now go shopping!
I just read this to Phil. He has never heard of anything like it either.

Sounds like he REALLY loves that duck. I've seen them in the stores. Hopefully nothing happens to that toy.

Oh my goodness this is one of the best storied I have ever read. My advice - where ever you got it go buy more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, what a cute story about BB and his duck toy. My old chocolate lab used to carry a bean bag stuffed pink pig around. He would lay down with his head resting on the pig. It was funny. I hope you get your remote working. Enjoy your day!

This is so sweet...and strange. I won't buy dog toys from Walmart, as they are all made in China with questionable methods, including formaldehyde and urine used for curing rawhide. If you have an Earth Fare or equivalent near you, try something from there to replace Duckie. Hope all is well.
