Beau Update from Vet visit Oct 1, 2025

Last night, while watching TV, I saw Bob's hand through the bed rails and Beau's nose as close to Daddy as he can get, in Daddy's seat on the sofa and I felt sad and happy at the same time. Bob has now been in the hospital bed in living room, more than 9 weeks and had his 3rd infusion for CIDP. He is better than he was 9 weeks ago and better than he was 2 weeks ago, which is good news.

I woke up today to a letter from his Vet, from the blood work done on Oct 1, 2025. I am posting this on my blog also because Beau only post updates here. We had to combine because Caregivers can't take care of two blogs.

Beau will be 12 next week and has been on gabapentin since Nov of 2021. he had a bad diagnosis, and we thought he would never walk off leash again. He has walked well for 3 years and is still good to Go. Vet started him on Meloxicam on Oct 1 because he said Beau could not get in the car because he was in pain from arthritis in his hips and back legs. One week later he is acting like a puppy again.

. The News is so good, I cried while reading the email to Bob. He has no clue why I was crying...but you will KNOW.

to me, manateevetclinic

Sandra and Robert, Beau's blood work has been returned and reviewed and, overall, matters continue impressively well. In essence, his entire panel has been returned as being completely normal and good. Now, granted, there's a singular, mildly-elevated value that represents kidney function; but it was present in '23 and then absent in '24 and now it's back. Nothing about the kidneys have changed in that time and I'm inclined to believe that the value we see "oh so mildly elevated" is a non-issue. Beyond that, his heart worm test and fecal exams were negative. Bottom line, Beau continues to impress and I believe I can, with some confidence, yet say that his future looks bright. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you, Dr. Doyens

By the way, I have been taking Movoflex chews for my joints for the last few months and they have been really efficient!
