August is Pet Immunizations Awareness month. Mama wants to tell you a true story she saw on the news. All of the dogs who have owned Mama over her lifetime, always get their shots. OUCH!
The one vaccine that is the MOST IMPORTANT is Rabies
This is the video from our local news about this dog and his family when there 3 dogs encountered a rabid raccoon in their yard.
If you don't want to watch the video. this is need to know
Raccoon, foxes and bats are the most common carriers of rabies
Most Americans have all three of these near their homes.
Her 3 dogs were ok because they had rabies vaccines
The family had to go through rabies shots, all five members and the cost
was 50,000 and they were left owing 13,000 that was not covereed.
Don't feed wildlife, get your pets Vaccinated.
One family lost their dog, one had to put him in jail for a few weeks, ONE shot a year can keep your pet safe..

What a story! We always got Simba his shots.
wow... what a story... we do our shots too... and they once helped us as we had a parvo outbreak...
Excellent public service post today Beau. We know about rabies, although it is very, very rare in the UK so us pups only need this particular shot if heading abroad.

Top reminder, Beau boy. Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx
Gibbs gets his shots but this is a good reminder.
We just came from Ann and Juney's blog and you are such a handsome boy, Beau, and you are so right - the rabies shot is so important!
Hi Beau…saw you over at zoolatry today and wanted to stop by with
a biscuit and a HI !🦴🥩🍗
Beau, you look fabulous, Ann sure did it up right for you! Yes, getting your vaccines are super important, we have two here that are due.
I already visit Ann and June and saw that you were featured. Very well done.
Have a woof woof day and week, Beau. Scritches to you and a big hug to mom. ♥
We always keep up with all our shots. You look great in the artwork Ann did for you. We'll be popping over there soon to see their post.
Beau
Ann and June captured every single of your 87 best traits...
I love the colorful cap.
Just over the weekend a fox jumped a fence where two dogs lived. He tried to get to them but he didn't. Thankful they were up on vaccines. However, since the fox was rabid they have to be quarantined at home for 45 days.
Hugs Cecilia
Beau you are adorable! Such a handsome boy :) The rabies situation was scary. These vacs are so important.
I think Tom would agree with me, we'd rather do without than compromise our girls' health. $438 last week for their annual, but (I think) it's worth every dime. I can't even envision that family faced with the $50k bill. Worse, those who lost their baby.
You keep preaching, dear Beau!
Thank you for the warning!
Such a handsome guy you are Beau!!
Great vaccine reminders!! Because we travel, we make sure we are always up to date on our vaccinations, and on heavy travel years we always get our canine flu vaccine!
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
Hi handsome Beau! So nice to meet you!
Shots are important for our pets. Our girl Lulu had her spayed two weeks ago at CSU Fort Collins. She did great and no shots til next year now! Hurrah!
Hi Beau! Nice to meet you. We're Florida kitties!
Great info for all of us, Beau. We are late getting to the blogs today, but we are off now to see Beau at June and Ann's place.

Wow, we're heading over to Miss Ann's to see Beau in all his glory as soon as we leave here! We get titers done every 3 years to show if we are still covered by our vaccinations. Except for rabies, which we get the 3 year rabies shot every 3 years. One time Xena had to get her other shots again cause she wasn't protected, but other than that, we all have immunity. Yay!
Great advice, and yes, we got our stabs last week!
We have all those critters here, too...and coyotes as well, I am sure they too carry that miserable disease.
It was good to see you, Beau, as an animal cracker!!
I will have to check that post out. That is really something about the rabies they got and the money it cost them. Is there a vaccine we can get?
Thanks for sharing that info. Good thing we're current on all our vacs.
your fur-iends,
Elsa & Wilson the House Pony
Vaccines are so impawtant thank you for spreading the word. We didn't watch the video. Mom still has nightmares from watching Old Yeller
Hi hi hi! Ojo here! Beau, you are FAMOUS! I saw your post on the other blog! Hurray! Also, I do not like my rabies shot because it hurts, but I guess it's a good thing to have!
