Ode to my Greenies

I heard a car in the driveway, my head went UP,

I jumped off the sofa, as if I were still a wee pup.

What to my eyes did appear?

Nope it was not 8 tiny reindeer.

The door opened and Uncle Richard and Aunt Jackie

Stepped in the house and started petting me on my backie.

She placed a silver wrapped package in Mama's Hand

and to the package I quickly ran.

Mama tried to hand it to me, but I did not know what to do,

you see, in our house, presents we do not do.

Mama opened it for me, and my sniffer went wild,

I was running in circles, like a small child.

I snarfed up 1 and then another,

and watched as my treat jar was filled my mama mother.

They stayed for a little while and we said good bye,

I dragged mama to the computer, I needed mamas eye,

to use her finger to create a thank you card,

then she let me out in the yard.

Christmas day, I had one for breakfast and one for lunch,

I do love these greenies a really whole bunch. 

This is posting today because it's Thankful Thursday at Brian's Home,

and I am thankful for my greenies bone. **
