Mama says please take a look at this huge avocado that the squirrel nibbled and knocked to the ground.
If you had this, would you wait until it was ripe, cut the top off and eat it anyway? Daddy does and our Neighbor Willie does, but Mama does not.

I cannot tell you how jelly-green I am that you have an avocado tree with lots of fruit! I adore them and would definitely be one in the 'let it ripen' camp!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
I, the F, would let it ripen and eat it anyway. We don't have rabies in this country (do squirrels get rabies?) so I wouldn't be scared of anything like that. And here avocados are such an expensive treat....
the mama said naah... eat it immediately ... (now we know why some things are like the are heheh)
If I was an avocado eating person, yep, I would let it ripen and still eat it.
I would definitely eat it when ripe. And I would only slice off and discard the absolute minimum amount. Being raised in an era when wartime rationing was a relatively recent memory has longterm effects!
Cheers, Gail.
Yes, let it ripen! I love avocados.
Cute photos Beau!
HUGS, have a happy day!
We think it would be fine to let it ripen and then eat it. You only eat the inside and not the skin that was nibbled. Plus, you could just not scoop out near the part that was nibbled. You look very handsome sunning yourself, Beau.
No answer from me Beau. I don't know very much about avocados
Hugs cecilia
Since your daddy and Willie eat them, I would too, after I carefully removed the inner part from the skin. If it looked like the squirrel's claws got through all of the skin, I would not eat it, no matter how gorgeous an avocado it was. And tell mama her avocados are just fabulous looking.
Yum! ... yet, like your momma, I'd pass on taking a bite. I wouldn't doubt that squirrels could get rabies. And if their little saliva were to travel through the plant's innards? (Oh, the things my mind can imagine!)
That is huge. I'm not sure but I imagine I would toss it. I do however love avocados.
Nope, we would put it back out for the squirrel!
That would be a hard decision since it's such a big avocado and a small nibble. I love avocados so it would partly depend on how many more were on the tree.
Given the cost of avocadoes now, we are sure our Mom would do like your Dad does!
I would give it to my daughter and let her do what she wanted to do...
