National Dog Day

Mama says it is National Dog Day today and she wanted me to tell you Daddy saw a wild Dog, better known as a Coyote. Florida has coyotes in all 67 counties in the state. Mama has seen one while she walked Big Boy, back in 2018,HERE and one walking with me April of 2022 HERE

Daddy said the one he saw was as big as a German Shepherd and it stopped in the road and stared when Daddy stopped and rolled his window down. Daddy, said go on home, before you get run over and it just stood and stared and watched daddy drive. off.
Mama says all dogs are descended from wolves and coyote and wild dogs, like the dingo in Australia.

Coyote  a few blocks from our house

In our house we love All Dogs, wild or tame or even the one she had to stomp her feet and yell at this week because she was trying to attack me. the good news is, Princess, the neighbor's dog is a pit mix cur and runs away if Mama yells.
Mama was yelling when she told daddy that #@$%^ Princess got after us again this morning.

Coyotes In Florida, this link has every question you might ask about coyotes.

Bing AI and I created this gorgeous Dog, Char Pai / Ridgeback Hound. I want one.

Happy National Dog Day Beau! We have sightings of coyotes up here but none lately. Princess sounds very highly strung. Glad mama was there to protect you.

Princess doesnsound like a very appropriate name for your neighbour k9 - she sounds more like one of the ugly stepsisters in attitude. I would be cross too if she tried to attack my bestest friend.

Hello, Beau

Happy National Dog day Beau! Your Mama loves all the living creatures. I have heard some horror stores about coyotes. I would keep my distance.
HUGS, have a happy day!

National Dog DAy? That must be why Gibbs is sitting there staring at me. He wants me to get off the computer and celebrate his day.

Happy Nat'l dog day to all my K9 friends. I've seen a fox here while sitting on my deck but never a coyote. The fox was scary enough since it was in the middle of the day and they are nocturnal mostly.

We have coyotes around us, but we've never seen them in all the years we've lived here. The only way we know they are here is when they get there yipping and howling going in the middle of the night.

Scratching my head about Princess' behavior. I remember you saying her owner was nice(?), so that makes things really awkward, doesn't it?

I'm fascinated by coyotes! They'd often come down off the mountain into my workplace (golf course) and had to caution guests not to feed them. One sad day, a little girl and her grandfather were standing outside their casita -- she had a chocolate chip cookie in her hand and the coyote wanted it. He didn't even break the skin, but of course they went right to my boss. Long story short, she had to call Animal Control who came out to trap it and put it down.

There used to be a blog about Charlie the Coyote...

Princess's owners are who is responsible...is she after you or your Mama? Or both?

Hi Beau. It's sad that Princess is so highly strung. I imagine she doesn't have great yoomens like you do that care for dogs so much. And trust your mama to have mastered Bing AI. Wonderful. Happy National Dog Day. Jo (Skabby's mama in South Africa)

They scare me so much. We used to see a lot of them. Now I see one maybe once a year and that's too often. I would never let Skye out without a leash at night because of them and Owls. We have what they call is a cat fence behind our house. It is supposed to be hard for them to get over it. At the bottom we had woven a two foot plastic cloth, on in squares, so when we got Skye she couldn't leave. It is down now but we have Amber's little Finley coming and we have bought it to do again for us to get another dog but now Mark can't put it up because of his knee. Hopefully he will be able to before they visit in October. That woven cloth saved their dog Charlie from a Coyote who tried to bite him.

Beau - what would you do if you came right up next to a coyote?

Happy National Dog Day handsome Beau!!! We're not at all fans of coyotes since they've eaten six of our ferals over the years.
