Daddy finally took down the old canvas privacy things on the fence that were ripped to shreds by Ian the hurricane 9 months ago.
I thought I would have a better view of the Dogs On the Porch!
They were not there.
We have one brown canvas and mama wants two more because she doesn't like open viewing every time, we step in the yard.
Nope, we can't afford a privacy fence, I told her to drape sheets over it.
Daddy called us outside to see our black racer that lives in the yard.
If you are afraid of snakes, leave now.
He was about 3 feet long and no, I don't bother critters. He is a black racer, and we have had them here for 34 years. The largest was about 5 feet long.
Mama talked baby talk to him, and he let her get with in 3 feet of him and we hope the silly video works

Again, you are such a good boy for not bothering critters. Please thank your mom for us for the pictures and video. ❤️

Oh, what a fun fellow to have share your yard, Beau boy - I am glad you don't bother him. I know he won't bother you, 'cos I went away and and your other Florida snakes. What lovely big eyes! Yours - and the snake's. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
We occasionally come across grass snakes in our garden. They are beautiful and quite harmless, so we leave them be.
Woofs,
Ollie
Hello, Beau
You are a good dog, keeping your distance from the snake.
Your Mama took some great photos and video of the snake.
HUGS, have a happy day!
Too bad you couldn't spot the neighbor dogs. Good boy not bothering that snake.
I will look at video later. Snakes se err ve a purpose...
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh S(N)AKES alive that is 100000% a snake.
I really don't like any slithering critter bigger than an worm. WHY well when I was about 6 y.o. my parents and I went to our friend's lake cabin with them. The men fished,
My friend and I were playing on the shore skipping rocks and just having a ball. All of a sudden a black racer decided he wanted to race us. Of course, being 6 year old girls we squealed so loud we broke the supersonic sound barrier. We ran up the hill as fast a greased lightening. He raced after us. I expect he won the race but we didn't stay around to congratulate him. We were in the house with our Moms and and Dads were giggling.
Hugs Cecilia
We have privacy in our yard but that's because there are woods between us and any of our neighbors. That is a cool snake. We have lots of garter snakes in our yard too.
I got to the comment box here just as fast as I could and DID NOT, repeat NOT look at your photos or read what you wrote! Why?
I do not mind bugs, other small pesky critters, i.e., mousies, geckoes, frogs in the pool, etc. etc.
But ... but ... OMD, OMD, OMG: I cannot even type, say, write, THINK that other "thing" that one you speak of today.

You are such a good boy Beau and I'm glad you don't bother your snake pal!
Ooooh no, no, noooooo! Da momma and daddy are far braver than me, Beau. I was able to look at the still photos, but far too chicken to look at anything moving.
Love you, dear heart.
Now did I read that right Beau?
YOUR MAMA TALKED BABY TALK WITH A SNAKE!!!
Worrying.
Toodle-oo!
Nobby.
So what is the plan for privacy now? I am scared silly of snakes, but this one does not look too gross. But I would still run from it!
If that snake is only 3 feet long, it is a very skinny snake and needs feeding up. What do they eat? My F human wants something to eat slugs and snails in her garden. Should we invite one of those? Xxx Mr T
Angel Thunder loved to catch the snakes in our yard and toss them up in the air. Of course,Mom would freak out and get the snake on a shovel so she could toss it over the fence:)
Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
I left, I do not do snakes.
