Saturday AM I recieved this message in email
I have a thought - would you like to have a video chat??? I can send an invite from Google Meet - all you have to do is click to accept and then join the meet... If you fancy five minutes now, I'm here. Just let me know! Yxx
I said Yes... and received this in my email
I clicked on Join Call and there she was, Smiling at me all the way from England, Yamini lives in Scotland but is Baby sitting Tigger the Cat in his home in England.
Suddenly from thousands of miles away and across the Atlantic Ocean, we were face to face on our Chromebooks.
While the pawrentz away the baby sitter will play. he he he
Somehow while trying to dredge the instructions for a screen print from my senior memory, I got two prints.
We laughed and talked, and Yam showed her view of traffic out the window, I showed her my traffic and she gave Beau a scritch and he moved the tip of his tail only, she waved at Bob while passing through the living room.
I think we chatted for about 30 minutes.
Yam, when I went in the living room after we hung up, Bob said whoever that was sounded like she was having a great time. Who was she and why did she call you? Or did you call her?
I told him this. She was sitting there thinking about the video chat and thought why don't we use this and sent me the email. We used Google Meet. I had no idea what that was. Now I know and so will you any moment now.
Yam said to look for the icon that says MEET in my gmail. It was not there.
I clicked on Settings and added the Meet app to gmail, refreshed the screen by pushing F5
and now it is sitting there waiting to PLAY..
Thank you Yam for teaching me something new!
she created a meeting invite and I clicked on the link in email
And Wow, I love her accent and you can visit her today on My take:doses of wild Yam, to see what she says about ME.

It was PHUN!!!!! 😄 YAM xx
how great!!! we had a video meeting too with aunt yam and she tried to help us with our evil provider... they really need an exorcist LOL
How cool that you two got to chat. Gail (who has of course met Yam several times in the flesh) has noticed that Yam's accent sometimes sounds more Scottish and sometimes sounds more Australian depending on context, and is wondering which version you heard!
What a great idea! We would be up for a video call too, once #1 returns home!
Woofs,
Ollie
How fun. Remember years ago when you could only make long distance phone calls and a half hour conversation would have cost a fortune?
How FUN! You're pacing ahead of me this week on discovering new things.
Now I'm wondering, is this feature solely one-on-one or can there be multiple attendees? I saw the little "Meet" icon's on my phone already, but not here on the desktop. (Probably b/c I've no camera on it ... duh.)
What fun you and YAM had. Having met YAM in person in 2016, I know what a joy and treat it is to speak to her.
I once tried a video chat with my Doctor...it did not go very well. Not sure why.
You and YAM are much more techie than I....maybe I can learn too. Amazing all those miles away yet you were in each other's living room.
Hugs Cecilia
I bet that was fun...
What a lovely visit you had. It's amazing how we can communicate with people today. So much more fun than talking on the phone. We used to do that with call with Amber but haven't done that in awhile.
How fun it is to get to meet our blog pals for a video chat. We are so far apart yet so close with technology.
What fun you had...Technology is fantastic.
Our photo club meets via zoom and we talk to people and can see them from all over the USA. Really a fun way to meet and catch up. I have done several FaceTime chats with the kids but most of the time I really don't want them to see me when the hair etc. stuff is out of control..I know its my pride!

This is soooo cool!!!
That was so cool - but how did you find her - and did you know her?
How fun. There are so many wonderful folks to meet out here.
Have a fabulous day and week, Sandra. Scritches to Beau. ♥
Well now, that was very cool, good for you, both of you. That had to be fun!
Neat!
What a wonderful surprise for you! It's been a few months since I've read your blog and am playing catch-up now. I miss having your blog sent to my email.
Now I must continue reading your blog.
