Nature Friday

Mama said today Is Nature Friday. Here I am enjoying sunshine in the back yard.

This week We saw a Sparrow and a Red Breasted Robin. I had Mama on the leash, and she only had her phone and I told her to look for photos on the internet and she did.
She got all excited and when we came in the house, she was waving her hands and talkiing to Daddy and she said she had never seen these birds before.
She told me when she was 2 she was attacked by a Rooster, at 8 she was attacked by a Turkey Gobbler who ripped her Easter dress all to pieces, and at age 11 was hissed at and chased by geese.
She grew up afraid of birds and then at age 16 went to see Alfred Hitchcock The Birds and that is the reason she has never seen these common birds.
Now she has learned not to be afraid because she sees and hears about birds from all of you.
She did not even get upset when the Cooper's Hawk flew so close to us he almost hit us.
while we were walking!

House Sparrows, better known as English Sparrows. Very chatty. I'm glad your bird fear is getting better, you sure had reason to be scared!

Oh yes, the birdies are just fine, Beau boy... though the Aussie Magpie can be a bit of a dive bomber in the spring time, so wear your hardhat then! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

Lovely photos of you enjoying the sun Beau. Although we think that opportunities to enjoy the sunshine are rather more common in your part of the world than where Gail and I live.
We would also warn you and your Mom to steer clear of Aberdeen's monster gulls during nesting season...
Toodle-oo!

I've always liked sparrows. They're so cute. Of course seeing the first robin of the year is always a welcome sight around here.

Hello Beau,

We have been seeing a lot of Robins here, big flocks on the ground and trails.
They seem scared of us and fly away when we get close. Cute photos of you enjoying the sunshine. HUGS, have a happy day!

There is nothing quite as wonderful as napping outdoors in the sun, Beau!

How nice to have seen those birds. Did you know that European robins are different from American ones? They are smaller, rounder and very cute.

Woofs,
Ollie

I'm not supposed to say this, but sparrows are very tasty too - although spitting the feathers is an inconvenience. These days I prefer my poultry defeathered and sliced into small pieces, so sparrows and robins are quite safe in my backyard now. We liked your nature Friday Beau - especially you in the nature. paw smacks Mr T

Hey handsome Beau
What a fine Nature Friday today. Well done.
Yesterday here in Raleigh we broke a record high temperature.
It was 75...today 71ish but rain and bone chillin' over the weekend in the mid 40's

I remember that move! I've never been attacked by a rooster or a turkey, but one of the geese Tom's daughter kept once nailed him right in the stomach. Stupid bird!

You're such a good fellow, Beau. Momma's very own bodyguard.

Beau, you look so relaxed and comfortable. Oh my, those are some scary bird stories. I'm glad she is not afraid anymore.

Our Mom is afraid of birds too Beau. One time we were at Clearwater Beach and a pelican chased our Mom all the way down the pier!

We wish we could lay in the sun with you, Beau. You know our parents are crazy about birds and welcome them into our yard.

Mama had a lot of upsets as a child Beau. I am so glad blogland helped her get over her fears. That is very cool!

I was just wondering the other day if you see Robin's down there. It is great to overcome a fear...

Beau! You look so wonderful in the sun! We have tons of birds here! But we do live in the middle of the wilderness. We have had robins for quite a while, but we have not yet seen spring. I do hope that happens soon. The deep freeze this winter is tough on the birds! Purrs Marv

Wow! Your poor mom and birds. I knew about roosters and geese but I didn't know about turkeys. I didn't see the movie, would have been too scary for me. 😊❤️

If I got attacked by birds and then saw the movie The Birds - I'd be wary too!
