Bedroom she wants, borrowed from PicMonkey stock photos |
You know Mama takes me on a walkabout each day.
We only have a few cold days in December and a few in January.
On cold days she wears a walkabout blanket in the house.
Daddy hates it!
She loves it!
With Ugly black socks, it is warm and snuggly, and she uses it like a normal person uses a robe.
She has this one and one like it with Aqua spots and has had them for more than 15 years.
Made from 100% heavy cotton flannel, and since she only wears them about 20 days out of the year, they will last her lifetime.
It is so warm that sometimes after a shower in the summertime Air Conditioning she puts it on to warm up.
I asked her why she put this on my blog, and why she wanted to post about it and her answer is
Because she could, would and did.
And because she has been wearing them for 8 days and this Thursday, she can hang them back in the closet because the cold will be gone for this year.
You might notice I do not wear anything but my furs. EVER!

our mama has such a thingy too... but da phenny made a spy hole in the fab house blanket and it makes a cold butt now, because the hole is exactly at the right place hehe
In the cold winter months I wear my flannel pajamas and a robe. Keeping warm is all that matters.
I like that bedroom
My human grew up on a sheep farm and she always wears sheep-wooly stuff (you have to feel sorry for the sheep, but she insists that sheep live in hot places too and need to lose their wool once a year or so to cool off). Anyway she is always knitting lost wool into some garment or blanket or something, and in cold weather that means layers of woolies (top and bottom) and complaints if the heating gets turned up too high. I meanwhile have my stripy-friend made of some fake furry synthetic stuff but nice and warm and snuggly and I like to hold onto a mouthful of its furriness sometimes. Otherwise, like you Beau, I rely on my furs. paw smacks Mr T
Hello Beau,
You are lucky your furs help keep you warm.
Your Mama's flannel PJ's are cute.
I like the cute photo of you and your Mama.
HUGS, have a happy day!

... I kept looking and looking for the 'blanket' ... then realised it was the dress thing mum has on that you were telling us about. The thing that does actually look like what I would call a house coat (and, I guess, you might call a robe). To me, a blanket is a covering for the bed or seat. I have two blankets on my knees just now, and like Tigger's F, I layer up with wool and shawls up top... only I have to do that for pretty much the whole of our year! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Miss Sandra, we think you look beautiful in your blanket clothes. Our Mom would love to have something like that and we could all cuddle up with her and she could drape it around us and it would be a cuddle fest! XOXOXOX Chia who wants to be the only one cuddling
That does look like a warm and comfy thing for your mom to wear. She is so cute and you are too, Beau.
That's interesting! But it doesn't look all that warm to us. Maybe your cold is relative?
We got a bit of slushy snow yesterday but none of it stuck. We think they got more west of here (Weimland, for example).
Woofs,
Ollie
I love the log bedroom...I agree nice to dream.
LOL on the 20 days of needed warmth.
You had some cold days recently.
Hugs cecilia
Pretty bedroom indeed and mom should wear whatever she wants to stay warm. I do the very same thing.
I know you're not going to ever do dress up. Not ever.
Have a woof woof day, Beau. My best to your mom. ♥
To me, this is technically a nightgown because it has sleeves. Is this the real name of it? And why does Daddy hate it? I think you look kind of cute in it.
Okay I like the bedroom for you - to much wood for me. Love your nighty!
That bedroom looks so cozy ... like something in the great Smoky Mountains. Now, all you need is a roaring fireplace.
I've never heard it called a walking blanket, but I've something like that in red with white fur trim. Makes me feel like Mrs. Claus.
Your Mom fits very nicely in that log cabin bedroom with her warm walkabout blanket. Beau, we are just like you - no need for blankies when you have warm furs like we do.
Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Our Mama says she would like to have that bedroom too!
We think that as long as your getting your walkabouts...your Mama can wear whatever she wants!
xoxo,
Sunny
I want a bedroom like that, too! I wish I was like Beau and didn't have to worry about what to wear.
I did read about this woman that had 7 of the same dress...so she never had to make a decision about what to wear. Since she had the same dress, just wake up and grab one.
That is a really pretty bedroom. As long as your Mom is warm and happy that's all that matters Beau!
I love it! It looks so warm and cozy.
Cute! I dress like that a lot up here! I would definitely love a bedroom like that!
Love that bedroom too! I think what she is wearing is super cute.
