Most of the time when you see me saying Door, I am asking to go inside.
this time I wanted outside!
It is my personal opinion that Mama should have an auto door opener put on the sliding door.
One that I just walk up there, and it rolls open.
I ran a searach to prove to Mama she could automate this door HERE I found this and I am SMART which means it would work.

Well isn't that interesting. That wouldn't work here because I don't have a fenced in yard. Gibbs would get out and be free to roam the entire neighborhood.

Good idea Beau boy - but some folk seem not to have twigged is that you need the big bit in order for the pet bit to work - so the five hundred bucks before the forty bucks! I doubt mum will be rushing at that - but yes, definitely a good idea! Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx]
pee ess, tell mum I looked for the app but it is only for Fruit Users... and those with phones that sing and dance. I am neither of these!
Mrs H is refusing to let me have a smart door. She says I'll open it and then sit in the gap and freeze the house out. OR, if I had a door remote, I'd forget to shut it, MOL

That sounds like the perfect thing for your sliding door. Then you could go in our out whenever you want.
It is an awesome product (gadget) but checked it out (as Yamini did) and the whole unit is quite costly. So one would have to have deep pockets, or be quite lazy to consider purchasing ... or maybe have multiple dogs and be very tired of constant door-opening for one or t-other.
Nonetheless, love the photos today of dear Beau wanting his outside time ... "please, Mom, open MY door!"

Hee! Hee! We had one of those for the previous hairy slobbery sister Bob about 10 years ago. It actually fit in the bottom track. There was a sensor that attached to her collar and when she stood in front of the sliding door, it would open for her...but then when the track got dirty, it would get stuck and stop working and it went through a ton of batteries. Living in a rural area, there is tons of dust and dirt that blows into the track so stuck more than it worked. After about a month Mom gave up and took it all apart. Good luck Beau!

That sure would be nice, Beau. We have a bell on our doorknob that we are supposed to ring when we want to go out. But only Angels Thunder and Ciara ever did that. Misty paws at Mom's leg. Lightning barks, and Timber just stares at Mom until she gets the message:)

Now that wold be great here, what with our fenced yard...bu we don't have sliding doors and the sliding windows are way too high up...and screened. We just will have to stick with our plain doggy doors...which means the flap kind, BOL!

We love that idea of having an automatic door opener that we could work. We're all really smart too, just like you, and we could go in and out any time we want. But do we have to remember to shut it?
