National Black Dog Day Oct 1

 This is a repost of my precious angel Big Boy, my most beautiful Black Dog.

WAS INTENDED FOR OCT 1ST, NATIONAL BLACK DOG DAY.

WE MISSED THE DATED BECAUSE OF 

HURRICANE IAN.

WE ALSO MISSED BOB'S 86TH BIRTHDAY.

IT IS NEVER TO LATE TO HONOR BLACK DOGS.

Adopt Senior Black Dogs, they deserve it

We found our Boy on Oct 1, 2018 on his daddy's 82nd birthday.

Congestive Heart failure took Our angel, Big Boy and he left us on Oct 9, 2020. 

He filled our house with love for two years.

 We went to 3 shelters, looking for an older, black dog. We are older, really older and needed a dog that fit our lifestyle.

We looked for black dogs because they are the hardest to be adopted from the shelters.

It could be because black dogs look scary OR that black dogs are hard to see in dark kennels and are not noticed as much.

Big Boy had been in a shelter 3 times and was in the office of the adoption coordinator because he had been attacked by a dog that a lady drove up and when they did not have room, because of overcrowding, she threw the leash down and drove off. That dog was so upset he ran over and jumped on Big Boy while I was walking with a volunteer.

The Lady told us as we walked down the hall telling us she had just the dog, 5 and 1/2 years old and Black.

and when it opened the door, we both said LOOK AT THOSE EYES and Big Boy 

 spoke to using eye speak

I said to Bob, he is so BIG! I did not want a Big Dog, note the past tense!
