The Poop Bag

Lizzie and her bug slayer mate, Leonard live on the fence. For 33 years they have lived there.
Mama says she thinks this Lizzie/Lenoard couple may be 4 or 5th generation.
who knows or cares?

The lizard in our yard lived a wonderful carefree life, until 2005 when Jake moved in.

Jake, leave that lizard alone, Mama yelled.
Who, ME? Jake replied
He chased, he pawed, he bit off tails, and some died.

With the addition of Jake to Baby and Cooper, something new came to live on the fence.

The Poop Bag.
The bag is 2 Walmart plastic bags, one within the other and a bread bag inside to use as a glove for picking up poop.
You seem my angel brother Jake picked up a bad habit living for 4 monhs in the streets, where he was forced to feed himself, until Mama rescued him.
He Loved to eat His Own Poop and then he found an addiction to Baby's Poop and did a lot of throwing up until Mama started following him around with
The Poop Bag.
The Bag hangs on the fence, the lizards live on the fence, the bag and all the BUGS it draws are known as The Lizard Buffet.
Because they love those bugs.
Mama follows me around picking up my poop as soon as I get Done! She did this for Big boy also. Habits are hard to break for OCD humans.
She picked up the bag and followed me around and unknowingly had a passenger riding on the side of the poop bag.
she glanced down and saw Lizzie clinging to the bag and said OH NO, look poor Lizzie is riding on the bag. Did she scream? Did she run?
No, she calmly walked back to the fence, tapped the bag and told Lizzie to jump on the fence and wait and she would be right back with her buffet.
Lizzie jumped on the fence and the bag came back and the buffet was once again open for dinner.

That's funny. We all like Lizzies here too (although truth be known, I, the Tigger, would probably do what Jake did and hunt them....) We used to see lizzies on the street here but now you mention them we don't remember seeing any since our first summer. Paw smacks Mr T

What lovely neighbours to have. In OZ I had lots of lizardy friends... but of course here in the Bonny Land, if there are any, they remain very well hidden indeed! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

Hello,
What a fright to find Lizzie on the poop bag, I would have jumped back and dropped the bag. Cute story and images. HUGS Beau! Have a happy day!

Well Lizzie is one lucky lizard to have a bug buffet right there close to home.
I had a dog years ago who always ate kitty poop. I had to hide the litter box to keep him out of it.
Then there was Duke. He didn't always eat his own poop but he loved it when it was frozen.

Only the Mad Snapper could come up with such an ingenious dual-purpose idea!

When Caraleigh was still very young, I caught her eating her own poop. Thoroughly humiliated -- but scared she might die -- I asked her vet. He just grinned and came back with this little packet of green powder: "Sprinkle this on top of her dog food." Problem solved!

Amy: I lost you and found you again. Dang.
Anyhow, love this story. I've never had a poop-eater dog (do cow patties count?). And we welcome our lizards - mostly blue tails whose tail detaches to save them when grabbed.
Xena: The big snake last year ate all my lizzies! I hate that snake! I loved to chase them almost as much as I loved to hunt them, and once in a while Lucy would eat one that I was chasing.

Who would have thought that a Bag Buffet would be so popular Beau?!?!

Our pawrents have always picked up the poop of all the dogs in their lives as soon as it hits the ground. That was done for two reasons. One of their first dogs, Greta, would eat any poop she found so they picked it up to keep her from eating it, but they also did, and still do, it to keep the backyard clean. They never have to worry about stepping into anything unpleasant when enjoying the backyard.
