Cute Alert!

Friday just before Lunch Time, I carefully carried a tiny possum and laid it in the leaves as a gift
to Mama and Daddy.
Mama, said Oh No, where did he find that
Daddy said, Beau would not harm anything, I can't believe this.
Mama said Well there is the evidence, look he is all covered in slobber.
I will go get a coffee can to put him in.
She stopped and said, Wait, test to see if he is playing possum or is he dead.
NOTE! She did not pick the possum up by its tale, She made Daddy do it
Daddy Dangled The Baby Possum and it started to swing and hiss and shows razor sharp
teeth and scrabble with its arms.
I said You should know I don't hurt animals.
Daddy dropped it over the fence where we think they live and it wandered off.
We hope it found the mother.
Daddy almost ran other the mother in our driveway at 6 am when he came home, the mom ran up on the porch then disappeared.
HERE are photos of Baby Possum TEETH
we hope to see all of them.. Mama put Wheaties Cereal out by the big oak tree a few days ago
The NET says they will eat anything, just like a buzzard... dead things, live small things, lizards, frogs, bugs, all insects, and human food there is nothing they don't like.
They also eat the skeletons of dead animals because they need massive calcium.

Cropped to show how darling he/she was. Just the size to sit in bob's hand, see how wet my slobber made him. I am a good boy.

Wow, Beau! You must have carried him so gently, just like a Mama cat carries her babies!! Yet you are not a Mom!! This mystifies me! But you really ARE a good boy, and now Mama has even trained you to bring her blog fodder!!

Crikey that thing had some ferocious teeth Beau. Did you do a "show me your teeth and I'll show you mine" - and he 'dropped dead' when he saw yours? xxx Mr T

To be dead or not to be dead, only the possum knows ...

You are truly the dog of a blogger Beau. What a good boy bringing your mom something to blog about. You're lucky that little guy didn't use those teeth on you though.

Beau you are a gentle soul...Obviously you fully understand all about second chances since you are living proof.
I have never seen a baby possum.

You did a good thing bringing that baby to your parents so they could help it find its mom again. We knew you would never hurt another living thing, Beau.

Hello, Beau

You are such a good dog, you would not hurt any critter. It is a cute little thing, I hope it founds it's way back to his Mama. HUGS, have a happy day!

What a gentle giant you are, Beau ... so intuitive, realizing that baby needed bringing to safety. Our first year here, Tom discovered a little opossum in his workshop -- City Girl here thought it was a rat!

Not only do possums eat a lot of things, they especially like ticks. And they do not carry rabies - something about their low body temps. So it was extra good of you to be gentle with that baby.

Awww, we know you wouldn't hurt another animal, Beau. You're a good boy like Lucy and Riley. Xena and Chia are our hunters. Did you know possums get frostbite on their feet?
