Daddy is back in the pool

My Daddy is a water-rat. He loves all things water. this is him in the Gulf of Mexico a few years back.

Today, Saturday Jan 14, he decided that although the Doctor said he could swim After Monday Jan 17 he could go back in the water on the 15th.
.

I don't do water, Daddy Did and Does and Always Will.

Mama stepped on the top step, it was just over her ankle and hopped back out and said,
just how cold is that water?

It was 65 F -18 C.
Mama will sometimes do 72 F, not often.

She walked me this morning, it was 49 F and she wore 2 sweaters, she has no coat, Daddy has no coat or sweater only a bright orange sweatshirt that he has not worn in 10 years, but Mama does when the temp is in the 6o's.
Florida has had a COLD SNAP!

Wake up in the 40's but goes to the 70's which Mama LOVES.  but not the cold water.

She likes sitting in the sun when it is cool but not when it is 92 F
Mama says he got in the pool 2 times when the water was 68 F but only 30 seconds.

What is the coldest water you will swim in, that is our question?

We haven't tested the temperature of the sea F swims in. She says the sea she swam in back in NZ was 7 degrees C at its coldest and only got 5 degrees warmer than that at its best. She was amazed when she got to UK to dicover how not cold the sea was on their south coast. She said 'one could walk into it instead of having to do the mad dassh and dive'. xxx Mr T

Hurrah, he is BACK! Beau, how is your injury from stepping in the hole? I used to swim and float really well when I had a lot of fat, now I just sink.

So glad daddy is back in one of his fave places... Yeah, I've swum in 5'C (40'F-ish) but I did have a wetsuit on... That was in South Australia in the winter. YAM xx

I used to love to swim, and I wouldn't want to come out of the water even when my lips started turning blue. "No, I'm not cold!" That was when I was a kid. Not any more! 😀

Swimming in the sea throughout the winter in Aberdeen has become a 'thing' during the pandemic and some people go in every day, even without a wetsuit, in water temperatures of around 7C. Gail loves swimming in rivers, lake and sea, but only when the temperature is above 12C!
Bertie DOES NOT SWIM.

Hello,
I know your daddy is happy he can swim again.
I am a wimp, I like warm water to swim. Like bath water, but I am not a swimmer just a wader. HUGS, have a happy day!

I don't have an answer to your question, Beau. I loved swimming in the Atlantic ocean in Normandy a couple of years back, but it was August! I hope I can go swimming again this year.

Woofs,
Ollie

The water needs to be pretty warm for me to go in it. We're talking bath water.
We're having a cold snap here and getting a ton of snow.

I'm glad your daddy got in the water two days early. I love to swim, but haven't in many years. I have been in pretty cold water when I was young in Sweden. Also, the Pacific ocean here in CA can be very cold. I don't like to stay in it when it's cold.

I can swim but I don't. The last time I was in a pool was probably 45 years ago. I like to walk on the beach with the ocean
lapping around my ankles but I do not get in any water if I cannot see my feet

Our mom says 68 degrees would be too cold for her. She doesn't get the opportunity to swim very much but she thinks that 75 degrees and up would be much better.

I'm glad dad is back in the pool. Good exercise for those new knees too.

I don't do cold water at all. It has to be warm. Period.

Have a woof woof day and week, Beau. My best to your wonderful peeps. ♥

We are glad your Dad is back swimming! We don't have a pool, but we do have a river. Mom does go swimming in it with Cinnamon - occasionally. She worries about slipping on the rocks since she lost her balance in a car accident. She says she is more a Hot Tub kind of grrl. I Marv, am NOT INTERESTED in swimming.

The coldest water? Once, in the Pacific Ocean, I waded up to my knees.

No thank you on the cold water. I will not go in. I'm glad Daddy got back into the water. I know how much he loves it. Sounds like he is doing well.

Your daddy's amazing, Beau! No way I'd venture in the pool in those temperatures! Actually, the older I get, the more I dislike being wet -- without benefit of a big thirsty towel. (TMI? *grin*)
