Beau the Beautiful

Mama says I can tell you this story.
Last week she had a doctor appt. She came in from our morning walk, jumped in the shower, got all spiffy and clean smelling, put on her best blouse, with her Candy Cane Leggins, went to the doctor appointment came home and as she was undressing, we heard her scream exclaim

"Oh NO!"
Daddy yelled down the hall "What Now?"
" I wore the Dog Walking Shirt to the doctor office, I probably smelled like DOG! I took a bath and put on clean clothes so I would NOT SMELL LIKE DOG. I looked down while waiting in the exam room and wondered where all the dog hairs came from. I am so embarrassed"
She was UPSET and waving her arms and saying things like HOW COULD I BE SO STUPID?
Daddy said
"Your home, it's over, nothing to be done, so what is the problem?"
like throwing gasoline on a fire
PS from Mama
Both shirts are black, it was semi dark in the bedroom, I grabbed what I had laid out to wear to the doctor visit and MUST have laid the black dog walking shirt on top of the clean shirt.
Maybe they will forget by my next visit which is 6 months.

I think they have already forgotten, if they even noticed. MUCH more important to wear clean underwear when you go out, in case there is an accident. The only thing all the doctors will care about is how clean your underwear is....

no worries, the docs wear masks so no one will notice the eau de dog ;O) but I feel with you... I cleaned the whole house yesterday after we were at a show... the car and everything smelled like dog... even the dogs..

My guess is they probably didn't notice. It seems like the things that bother me most go unnoticed by other people.

I bet they see a lit worse than that...a lot, lot worse. But I know just how you feel.

Well, Beau, I think mum needs to chill - I'm with daddy on this one! (Sorry Sandra 8`p) However, I do understand getting irate at oneself for such an error. Lesson learned, I say. Now Beau boy - you go snuggle and distract the wummin and she too will forget it ever happened! Hugs and wag,s YAM-aunty xxx

I'm with daddy on this one too. Nothing to be done about it now. I'm guessing if you didn't notice they didn't either.

Beau is beautiful and handsome and a lot of other wonderful adjectives.

Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to Beau. ♥

Oh Sandra..life is never dull with you.
I'll bet the Docs never even noticed, especially from behind their masks.
And...
Black may not be the best choice for dog hair...

Oh no! I'd be the same way. At least he/she was wearing a mask, maybe?
This bears absolutely no relation -- but when I started reading I remembered a FUNNY story I'd read years ago. Too risque for the blog, but just Google "the-washcloth-gynecologist-joke/"

Lady says the advantage to us all still wearing masks is it is harder to notice smells. Lol!

We agree with Phod and Lee...with all the masking we are sure no one noticed how good your Mama smelled!

We like Cecilia's comment. What could be better than Essence of Beau.

If they offer you flea meds next visit you'll know they haven't forgotten!

I did that about a year ago! The Doctor asked me how Cinnamon was handling her Daddy's passing. That's when I looked down and saw that I had grabbed the shirt I'd worn when I was brushing Cinnamon and NOT the clean shirt I got out for after the shower. I apologized for getting dog hair all over the office and he said with Covid, having the dog hair helped him see where I had been and made the cleaning easier.

Hopefully they are dog lovers and will appreciate that you are too.

Ginny is right on with her comment about the clean underwear. I know it's true because that's what my dear mother always told me...a lot. (Still, I can only imagine your humilation post-fact when you realized what you'd done!)

True, it's over now, you can't change it but I do know how upset I would have been if I did that.
