When Elsa the hurricane was headed our way, Mama said, Beau if the storm came and the house blew down and you got scared and ran away, the only ID on you is your county tag and your microchip.
She jumped on Amazon and ordered a Bow Tie with Beau and her cell number on the front and on the back it says microchip, her name and our home phone number
It did not get here in time for Elsa but she did not come to us, so all is well and now I
am Hurricane Proofed, Car Accident Proofed and If I get lost, they have two phone numbers to call.
Mama said the problem is, I am so good that they might want to KEEP me and not call.
I asked Mama what is a microchip and she said, it is all your information in a tiny pea under your skin.
she also said, some people don't know to look for one, some don't want to drive to a vet with a strange dog, but most will call her.
Mama carries a card in her wallet that says, our dog is home alone, with address and phone number, and it has my friends Jackie and CC and there phone number and says call them for emergency.
They know how to get in our house and get me.
Mama is a PLANNER.
She has a sign on the door to our house that says 1 Dog inside, Beau is his name, save him. It came from the fire dept.
That sign has been there for 32 years, Max, then Baby and Cooper, then Baby, Cooper and Jake, then Jake, then Big boy and now it says BEAU. that is ME.

| Mama said, I was NOT Good posing for a photo of it. this is the best she could get with my shenanigan's. I did not like it when she hung it with my other tag and it felt funny and made me lift my front paws and walk funny. I did adjust though |

Mama thinks of everything, that is the UP side of being a Whatiffer.This must have been quite funny to see, when Mama first put it on you. You must be very sensitive, being as it is just a little lightweight tag. Maybe if it had been a BALL....
your mama is right, a chip is good, but no one can read it nor will they know that a pup they found has one. to have name&number is a good thing when it comes to such things...

Your mama is such a good planner and has everything in order. It's such a good thing to have. I wish every dog and cat owner would do the same thing.

A tiny "add on" if I may be so bold. We all know Beau is as gentle as a lamb, but some could be intimidated by his size, you may want to add a note about how friendly and gentle he is ... and include name/address of your preferred VET should he need to be taken somewhere in an emergency. Just sayin'
