This One is for Misty, of the Woos

Mama is making me share my blog, she wants me to dedicate this to Misty, of The Chronicle of the Woos...  who may or may not have eaten flowers.
This post is from 2009..

Once upon a time, in a long time care and rehab home, their lived a lady named Rosemary. Every day Rosemary rolled in her wheel chair out into the courtyard where lived her favorite squirrel.

She was a  beautiful squirrel and loved Rosemary as much as Rosemary loved her. They spent many happy hours together. Rosie and the other residents and myself, watched as they scampered, made babies, had babies, chased the babies and most of all we watched as.......

The mother squirrel climbed on Rosies foot and reached up to take a peanut from her hand. No one else could feed the squirrel this way. they had a special relationship.

The Activities director planted beautiful flowers in the half dozen planters in the courtyard and in a few short days, the flowers were gone. the residents said someone is stealing our flowers. Can you guess who that was?

Any guesses NOW?

Guess yet?

could this innocent creature do all that damage?

Oh, Yes, as you can see by the evidence gathered by the facility photographer (that would be me) the culprit was found and documented.

Click on this picture to see the dirt ball she is eating
You would think the wicked director would say Away with you, dastardly squirrel.
NO she did not, she just continued to fill the flower boxes with beautiful flowers and the resdents continued to watch the show each day.

Oh my, now I know why my flowers are being dug up.

Bad squirrels. Cute story and detective work.

Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

What a charming tale has been told ... and Beau, you were a sweet boy to share it with all today! Rosemary, her little squirrelly friend, the lovely flowers ... and mischievous Misty were all award-winning characters in this drama!
Well done! And paws up to the photographer!

What a lovely story on so many levels. Thanks for making me smile first thing in the morning. A wonderful way to start my day. I miss squirrels, we don't have any here, not that kind. We have ground squirrels, not as cute due to lack of furry tails, considered pests my many here, but I enjoy them, particularly now when their babies are playing in my yard.

Cute story - but I don't like squirrels - we fight them all the time in the attic and I find nothing redeeming in them! lol $$$

The director is okay in my book :) Tell your mom how much I love this post and photos. I am a squirrel lover and am entertained daily by them, though I haven't put my flowers out yet. Hmmm...wouldn't stop me from planting anyhow.

What a sweet story of the joy that squirrel and her family brought to the nursing home residents even if she was stealing all those flowers.

Hmmm. Squirrels are not in our yard. Between cats and Cinnamon, there is much barking, meowing, chattering and chasing! We do like to harass the squirrels! Mr D, however, wishes they would stay out of his flowers.

We are sorry to be so late to the Misty Flower Party:) Mischievous Misty has to admit that YES indeed, she does eat Mom's flowers, and also like to pull a whole plant out of the pot. But we also have had a pesky squirrel in the pest who liked to munch on the flowers too. And that's why our deck flowers are in jail:(

That's a sweet story. I enjoy watching squirrels but we don't have any at our house. They are however living in areas below our house on the hill. We have bunnies and I've been feeding bunnies since Skye passed away. I bet they miss us this week.
