Vet Visit UPdate

First thing in Monday am, we woke up to LOUD and Bright thunderstorms. Flash, Boom, Bang and INCHES OF RAIN. I heard mama say, well now we know he is not afraid of storms. BUTT she wanted me to pee/poo in the rain! NOT!

She was fretting about the house and saying, He has a vet appt, he has to go outside. No Ball Game, No Walk, No pee/poo, oh what shall we do. She worked herself all up.

Butt the rain stopped and Daddy gave me a 5 minute walk, She would not go because the radar on her phone was flashing with lightning and she said If it strikes you and you are not dead, but an invalid, I will not take care of you.... I wondered if she meant that for me too...

I did pee, I did poop, and just as we parked the car at the vet office DOWN CAME THE RAIN!!!

They dragged me through the rain, we all huddled in the corner, 2 Dobie's came in and stared at me, I stared at them,  and then the Tech came and took me away from Mama and daddy and left them out there with the Dobermans.

The appointment was one  where they poke a needle in your leg and take the bloods.   Supposed to be a simple poke by the vet tech, in and out and back home.

Butt NO. Mama said he is doing the scoots and his anal sacs are swollen and RED, could you check them out?

I was back there for 20 minutes, she squeezed and poked and prodded my front paw and my BUTT..  Butt was sore and she made me yelp!   Turns out the anal sacs are really inflamed, but mama was so glad it was that and not the Big C. She thought of that because she looked at photos online that looked like mine and because my harness got to Big and slid around to the side yesterday, she thought I had cancer and had all this stuff in her mind. Like loosing weight and red  behind. you know. mama stuff.

Anyhoo! I am fine, she puts powder on my food for 6 weeks and brings me back to be prodded again. If it is still inflamed she will put me to sleep and flush it, and I don't like the sound of that.

There was a scary ending, but I was wonderful, The Doberman did not like the dog that came out of the office door, he snarled at his sister, I came out at the same time, with a girl holding my leash that weighed less than I do, and she said I am having a hard time holding him, the dobie snarled at his sister, Mama grabbed me and got twisted in the leash causing a bruise on her arm, Daddy dragged me to the door and I did nothing butt be dragged.

When they weighed me, I am a perfect 79.5 lbs, look up at me on the table, you can see how good I look. I weight 88.9 when they saved me.. Tech said I am Perfect. Butt we know that.

She said to tell you her 3 biospys on her nose came back, one was nothing, one was precancer and the other is squaumous, but nothing to worry over, just put Chemo Cream on the nose daily for 2 weeks, stop for 2 weeks, put it daily for 2 weeks and come back to let them see what it looks like.

The good news is she had the 100.00 tube of Chemo Cream that Daddy had to use in Feb so no cost.

We are both FINE   Sorry for all the chatter.  We moved the answer post to Wed... Hope you can stand to wait

I am so glad you do not have anything serious wrong! I have never heard of chemo cream, it is like something futureistic. I hope it works. Your Mama looks gorgeous in that shirt!!

oh my what an adventure...such pups are a challenge, therefore they use the back door here and can wait alone for the treatment... we are glad our vet did the shots in the car, fortunately one of us has a docked tail so the vet was able to see who is who

So glad to hear that it wasn't anything serious. Sounds like it was quite a day for you. Here they don't let you in the office at the vet. You have to wait in the parking lot and they come out and get the dog/cat
I've never heard of a chemo cream.

Hot Diggity Dog (expression we humans use when all can be fixed & nothing appears to be the serious scare ... The big "C"). And the previous post...a diggity dog!!!

We are glad you both are receiving good treatment and hope all is well and there are no Dobermans present when you next visit the vet...
And of course we always knew you are perfect in every way Beau.

Had to laugh at your moms meltdown. I love your mom.

It's good to be okay. I'm sure everything that needs doing will end everything else. You are perfect for sure.

Have a woof woof day, Beau. My best to your peeps. ♥

Oh wow ... what an ordeal! I was watching the national weather and wondering how bad it was impacting you.
The way in which momma writes, I could just visualize that scene with the dobermans. (You are PERFECT, yes you are!)

Thank God, no cancer; and that on mommy's nose is treatable!
Just my 2-cents worth, but this almost calls for a celebration ... Culvers, anyone?

I have no idea what chemo cream is but glad you had it.
Also his glands - I hope they go down on their own too and he does not have cancer. Boy we are the same - I worry about ole Disco like that too Sandra.
What was the blood test for?

We don't mind thunder boomers either but peeing and pooping in the rain is now fun. We're glad the vet visit went as well as can be with all the poking and prodding and we're glad your mom is okay too.

Very informative post Beau! Thank you! Cinnamon has trouble with her glands sometimes, We are keeping an eye on her right now as she is scooting. And we are glad to here your Mom's nose is OK! We hope you all have a marvellously happy day.

Google scares us without reason sometimes. I understand how that goes. Now your mind is relieved and you "just" have anal glands to deal with. Several years ago, our friend's boxer mix Ella (you've probably seen her on the blog) had to have her glands removed. A painful and delicate surgery, to say the least, and a last resort. She came through fine, though.
Prayers for you, too.

I'm glad you are okay and that you have lost some weight. Our dog, because she was groomed had her anal glands done every three months. Ouch!

Glad to hear that your nose is doing well and you have nothing to worry about. Also that's great that you can use the same cream that Bob had.

Good news all around. I am sure that you didn't like the poking and prodding, especially back THERE, but it's all good now.

And, we knew that you were perfect, Beau!
