Happy New Year Thankful

It's new years eve  and we wish you much sunshine and happiness in the coming new year!

Angels Baby and Jake were always available for sunshine in the kitchen shots. During Nov to Feb the sun fills our kitchen every day.
Five of our six dogs who have lived in this house were in the sun puddles every single day.

Big boy was only with us for 2 of these seasons, yet I have about 200 photos of him in the sunstripes in the kitchen.
I stood looking at the kitchen this morning, full of stripes and bright sun, on our coldest day of the year.
39 degrees at wake up high of 48.
Beau has never once laid in the sunshine. Not in the kitchen and only on a few rare occasions of partial sun and shade in the yard.
He doesn't like sunshine, when we are outside, he seeks the shade. the only photos in the sun are the ones I grab as he walks from one shade spot to the next.
Have you every had dogs or cats that did NOT like sun puddles?

Ask I scrolled through all the sunshine photos my eyes filled with tears.

I miss my sun seeking angels..

I am thankful we had our angels and thankful for the home we love that is filled with sunshine almost every day.

Thankful that our angels loved every minute of every day in the sunshine.

Thankful for Cooper and Max, and sorry that I have no photos of them in the sunstripes. The two of them were before I became the Digital MadSnapper.

During their lives, it was film and very high processing fees to see if I got a good photo. Which makes me thankful for digital cameras and phones.

Thankful for our Beau, the Shade Seeker

I had no idea about BEAU!! Well, I guess just like people, some dogs like the sun and some don't. You were B.B.'s human angel who gave him lots of love in his last days, when he needed it the most.

we are with you Beau... we love shady places...the staff said that is because we are shady characters (that's a lie) ... Happy NEW YEAR to youuuuu!

Bertie is a sunseeker but his predecessor Hamish the Westie preferred the shade. We think Beau would just love Scotland, which is not a paradise for sun lovers...
Toodle pip!
Berti.
PS Gail enjoyed the Appalachian video link and learned some new words. From 1988 to 1990 she worked in Bartlesville, Oklahoma (at the then HQ of Phillips Petroleum), and so she is somewhat familiar with some of the more outlandish U.S. accents! Soon after she arrived a supermarket helper commented "Gee ma'am, you have an accent" and then paused for a moment to ask (in what to Gail's ear was pure Okie redneck), "do I sound like I have an accent to you?"

Hello Beau,
My house does not have the sun puddles, but my dogs loved laying outside on the deck in the sunshine. Beau and the sun seeking angels are all beautiful, love the photos. HUGS, Have a happy day and an awesome happy New Year!

I can't believe I've never paid much attention to whether or not Gibbs likes sun puddles. I usually keep the blinds on the sliding glass door closed so he can't get any puddles any way.
I know he doesn't like staying out in the heat very long

All of your angel babies are all so beautiful. That is a little odd that Beau is a shade seeker. I think every pet I've ever owned has been a sun seeker.

What a pack of pawfect compawnions!!! A lovely array to close this 'dawg' of a year. Beau, if you prefer the shade, you stick to it hunny-bunny... I tend on the whole to favour it myself! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

I can so identify with your feelings. My memories are priceless, but sometimes they run down my face. Despite being litter mates, our girls are different as night and day. Little Grace loves to lay in the sun; so much so one of us will have to pick her up and bring inside so she doesn't become sunburned.
Happy New Year, Hangey family!

Such sweet pictures of your sun loving Angels and shade loving Beau. We both enjoy a good sun puddle but where we live sunny days are few and far between.

Big still has my heart...I do not know what it is about him but I sure did love him. Not that I don't love Beau...

Right now I cannot think about the dogs past...I don't think either of our past two dogs hunted sunshine, but the dachshund we had would follow it wherever it went...she got up and went with it.

Sun Puddles..I love that terminology and it is different for dogs to seek the shade over sunshine.
It just shows how Rare and special you are Beau.
Happy New Year

Well it does seem odd for an animal not to love the sun. It is a reminder that they are all individuals. Wishing you a very Shady new year!

All of our Angels loved sunpuddles. Now only Timber likes to nap in the sun. Misty prefer the cool tiles of the fireplace hearth, and Lightning likes the a/c vent in the summer. Maybe Beau doesn't like the sun because of his black fur, maybe he heats up too quickly?

Happy New Year!!!

What sweet pictures and memories. I am surprised BB liked the sun. Lexi didn't lay in it much because of her black coat soaking up the sun and making her too hot. Now at the lake, where she could cool off, it was a different story. Happy 3 month gotcha day, Beau!
