Tall Tail Tale

Look carefully at my Tail.. Mama and daddy admire it and laugh at it a lot... You should see it wagging! It seems I have a cowlick on the white furs of my tail. I have never seen a cow, so have no idea how one licked my tail and if it had, I would know it, right?

Cowlick.. a lock of hair that grows in a different direction that the rest, and can not be combed flat.

Mama wants to know how you say cowlick in your language? We are waiting to hear from all our friends in other countries, and also if English is your first language, do you call it cowlick?

Mama has 3 cowlicks on her HEAD, I think the tail is a better place, don't you? is a dog tail tale ok on Nature Friday?

May your Friday the 13th be less terrifying than the USA Election!

Cowlick here too. Gail has the trace of one where her (very short) hair points down toward the nape of her neck.

You are such a wonderful guy, Beau! I call it a cowlick too. I just read a book about mountain lions that says that cowlicks on their necks (or tails with kinks) mean that there's too much inbreeding in the population. I don't think that it means that in dogs!!!!

YES, I have a cowlick too. And it shows when I get my hair cut. Nothing to be done about it...so I live with it. Beau, yours is just too cute for words.

Well, that's about the cutest cowlick I've ever seen. I never had enough hair to develop something like that.

When Momma played a German poet in her Rennysauce faire, the Spanish queen was trying to explain a cowlick to her and they ended up using the phrase "a turbulence of hair." That's what Momma always thinks of it as now!

Hi friend! Ojo here! What a lovely tail! I too have things the people call cowlicks. But I do not have a handsome white tip like that!

When grooming dogs and shaving their chests, I have to be careful I don't shava an area bald because of the different direction their hair often grows in that place, low down, almost between their front legs. I never thought of that as a cowlick, but it seems that is exactly what it is. Thanks for helping me put a name on it.
