What Beau Does 2.....Going IN

Continued from yesterday What Beau does post..

Beau looked at me and said
I am going IN...

And VANISHED! Gone! We called, we yelled, I bounced the ball and yelled play Ball!
Vanished! I raced to the bush and pulled it back and there wat The ONE Hole, We did not repair.
The fence is OLD, 30 plus years! Bob nailed and hammered and shot nail guns and repaired all the holes before we brought him home.
Bob went to the door, slid it opene to get the leash and walk aournd the corner to get in the neighbors back yard. WE WERE FRANTIC
this is what he vanished in.

We can't even see their house and it is 50 feet away.
The view over our fence, The neighbors Shed, his yard is a jungle, has not been in that yard for years, they just let it run amuck. We could not see Beau because it was over his head.
this is where the racoons and possums call home.
Bob slid the loud door open and suddenly Beau Bounded through the hole and back into our yard.
He probably thought he was being left behind.
We had so much adrenalin running we could not sit down for an hour. He had on Big Boys tag, but was not registered to us at all in anyway, this was the day we were to take him at 4 pm for the vet visit.
The hole is repaired.
we hope it is

What a dreadful scare. And on top of everything else!! But at least with a GOOD end!

oh that was sure an adrenaline rocket what started that moment... we are so glad that nothing happened to Beau while he visited da jungle camp... but it is crazy how fast they find the only hole and the only weak part of the fence...

Ah, you have a Houdini on your hands. My previous dog Hamish the Westie pulled similar stunts on a regular basis. I lost count of the number of times I took him round to friends and they insisted their back garden was secure, only to find myself wandering around their neighbourhood frantically calling HAMISH!!! a few minutes later...
So pleased you got Beau back!
Cheers, Gail.

What an awful fright!
If either of our girls goes missing for more than a few minutes I immediately jump to the worst-case scenario. Have to know where they are at all times; and THAT's why I could never be a cat parent.

Beau gave you a really big scare. We're so glad he came back through the fence on his own and that the hole is fixed. We have our paws crossed for you after we read about your fall. Don't worry about comments. Just make sure you get the rest you need to heal properly.

So glad you got Beau safely back in your yard. What an adventure for him, but a good boy to come back when you found him in the other yard. What a scare! Take care.

Isn't it funny - sort of - he finds the one hole in the yard???? Oh vey.

Isn't it an official duty of dogs to find all holes in fences so you know what needs repair? BOL!

Beau,
You scared the living daylights out of our ma.

Thank goodness you are safe at home now.

That would be very scary. It's good to know Beau has incentive to come back home. If you are in the city, there are probably ordinances about yards...

OMG, I know the feeling. We had to put up a woven fencing when Skye was a puppy because she could have gone down the hill through the fence that is designed for a view lot. We are going to redo it for a new puppy at some point. Now the bunnies have holes. Of course when Skye was a puppy she dug holes. It's part of the breed who hunted rats. Mark had to come home from work to get her in the neighbors yard! So glad he came back and the hole is fixed. At least they still would have found you with BB tags.
