Two Guys

We are two guys, in front of the TV.
one is daddy and one is ME.
I lay here
To be very near.
If he wants to get up
he has to stand on my butt.
This wakes me up, and I can go to.
That's just what I always like to do.

This is also how I lay, when a storm draws near,
when the lightning flashes and booms I hear.
The only difference is the legs must be
My mommies legs to better protect me.
When storms do roar,
I need my mamma much more.
She sits on the other sofa, and a blanket lays,
she puts her legs over my head, and I squeeze in the slot and shiver and shake.

Do you prefer one pawrent over the other when you get scared?

Is that a mystery person in the upper left corner? I LOVE this sweet poem!! Simba flees to the basement when scared. And lays under a child's table. That is his bomb shelter.

Hello, BB

You just love your Mama and Daddy and want to be close to them.
Those storms can be scary, there are times I would like to stick my head under the covers. Wishing you a happy day!

I've only ever had one dog that got scared during storms and that wasn't until he got older. I was the one he came to for protection though. If it was daytime he would sit as close to me as he could get. If it was night time he would climb up in the bed and lay almost on top of me.

BB, you are a great poet! One dog we had was terrified of all storms and no one could comfort her. But we did not get her till she was older. Another dog did not like to hear the wind howl, and she was satisfied if I was close to her. As in if I slept on the couch she was fine and just laid against the couch...but if I tried to sleep in bed, she continued pacing.

Like father, like son! :)
Now that you mention it, Grace is her daddy's little snuggler. Spitfire, too on account she'll bark at the thunder. Even tho' she's the bigger sister, Macie Ann tries to make herself one with my thigh and allows me to hug her.

You are so lucky to have your mama and daddy to chose from. Samson and Faith just have to put up with me.

We don't think about who to go to much. Mommy's around so much more, so we flee to her. She'll always protect us no matter what. XOX Lucy and Xena

I just have my momma, but she's fangtastic at pawtecting me from anything. Although our Best Guy was laughing yesterday when he came over. Momma LEFT US to go to the bathroom, and I stared anxiously after her for a minute. Then I let out a big sign, jumped up on the couch, and leaned on our Best Guy. He said he's glad he was an adequate temporary replacement.
