What I Did On Mothers Day

I went out with Daddy at 4 AM, our usual morning outing. We ate breakfast at 6 and I saw Mommy point at her Tablet that sits on the breakfast bar and say LOOK!
I LOOKED and OH NO!
LOOK what's LOOMING out there!
She walked to the door and said it is drizzling and I paid no attention, since that is not one of my WORDS.
We walk at 6:40 now, with the time change. We wait for daylight because of CRITTERS who wander at daybreak.
Mama said to Daddy,
If we are going to walk, we have to hustle, ITS coming.
Daddy said lets do it, but it is still no daylight.
Mama said, we gotta go now.
Mama has been holding my leash this week, because Daddy's arm is out of whack.
She harnessed me up, we walked out through the gate,
AND MY EARS WENT UP, and MY Face Said ALERT!

Mama said STAY, Daddy Said What?
 Mama Said LOOK AT HIM!
Then we all three Spied at the Same Time
THE RACCOON across the Street that took off running away from us.
I GAVE a forward Leap and ONE BIG ROARING BARK!
Mama did fine, I did fine. She was READY because she read my ears!
She said a firm STAY! and I DID!
I stayed and watched that coon and the whole time we walked in the rain, they both kept telling me what a Good Boy I am and I got Venison Treats.
I Hope we see a raccoon every day.
But Mama doesn't.
As Mama types this, that storm is coming and I am practicing  my WHINING!
I HATE STORMS, so does Mama, we huddle together until it is gone.

This may be the best bedtime story I have ever read! I will sleep well tonight, with visions of your ears, the raccoon, and venison treats.

What's going on with your raccoons ... I don't dare walk down the street!
Yesterday during the day was nice weather but in the evening there was also a strong wind ... but now it is over, but cold!
Take care of your mom and dad, okay? Hugs!

What a good boy you are, Big! And I'll bet you've already committed that WORD drizzle to your memory bank. I don't like storms either … sending you a BIG cyber hug right now!

I hope your practice is over and done with! I suppose we all have things we whine about though...with me it is any time I have to get up in front of people or go to something where I need to dress up. I whine and whine till it is over with.

When you mind your mom then you get lots of praise and a treat or two too.

Have a woof woof day and week. My best to your peeps. ♥

I'm glad you got your walk in before the storm came. Those storms can sure be scary sometimes.

Know those 'walk NOW' times. We're on Winter schedule. No early morning walk, river run around 8 and a later walk when it warms up.

We hope you saw our post from today about our raccoon.

You have a lot of raccoons there, in trash cans and across the street. You better be a good boy and not try to take them on, one of my dogs did once and that was not a good thing. It is a good thing that your mom knows how to read your ears. I can read Faith's ears but not Samson's because they stick up all the time.

Well, BB, this is the longest comment I've ever written on a dog blog.

Good Boy BB...for staying when we know you really wanted to go tell that raccoon a thing or 2!

Hope the storm didn't last too long!

Good job, Big!!!!! You warned them but you didn't yank anyone's arm too hard. Your mom is a smart cookie, watching your ears. They tell a story, for sure!

I'm glad that you and mom can huddle together and comfort each other during those scary storms. No thunder here yet but it's coming, I'm sure.
