Big is sulking, he said first the cats, then frogs and now bunnies. I explained to him, the reason this is called Fourpawsetc is it is NOT always about the Canines.
Big Boy sees these two bunnies almost every day. They live running free in our neighbors yard.
Thanks to KB of Romping and Rolling in the Rockies, Big has been conditioned by treats and sweet words and watches as we walk by and pays them no mind.
He learned CAT and Bunny, means he gets a venison treat.. Instead of chasing them, he looks at me and I say sweetly, look at the sweet bunny, and hand him the treat.
KB calls it reconditioning training.
About 2 years ago, the white bunny appeared and has since been a common sight. She disappeared for a couple of months and I blamed the hawks.
She reappeared and had a tiny brown baby bunny with her. The baby looks wild, she is domestic.
The baby has grown rapidly and is almost the size of Mama. We can't decide if she adopted it or maybe someone found a wild bunny and she raised it. We have never seen the people, or I would ask them
This past week while I was out for my alone walk, I stopped with my cell in hand and she ran behind the tree. the brown bunny was about 10 feet away from her.
When I raised my hands to take pictures, she hopped really fast and bumped his butt with her nose. He moved a foot and stopped. I stood in amazement as he herded him with her nose bumping him in the butt until he was safely out of sight....

What a story! And here I thought Big Boy was the only one scared if the camera. He must have been giving off a vibe.
How cute are the rabbits ... and what a nice BB dog you are!
A big hug for you!
That would have been fun to see her herding the baby. BB you are very good to leave the bunnies alone. Besides treats are better any way
Hari Om
almost certainly that is her own baby and her 'disappearance' will have been her off mating. Either by her own search or by the arrangement of her owners putting her to breed.
BB, you are such a good boy to only watch and then walk on by!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Hello BB,
You are such a good boy, behaving well around the bunnies. They are so cute! I have been looking for the baby bunnies in my yard. Have a happy day!
Wow, you need to write a book! Wouldn't you love to know the whole story?
Great behavior modification technique! Big, you and momma are far more interesting than the Animal Planet and I always learn something new. I hope you 3 -- and the bunnies, too -- have a wonderful day!
Those cottontails owe KB a big thank you. Some of them actually look like they might be formerly domesticated bunnies.

We like to watch bunnies but we're not allowed to mess with them either BB!
It's bunny TV BB. You should just enjoy watching them act like bunnies.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. My best to your mom. ♥
Awwww...what a heartwarming story today! Love the "bunny herding"!
There is something sweet about bunnies. They drive Skye crazy in our yard and they do leave a lot of poop but I think they are cute!
Xena: Here, bunny, bunny.
Lucy: Xena, we're supposed to leave the bunny alone, and then maybe we'll get a treat, like BB does.
Xena: Treat? Did someone say treat?
So glad Big is learning to ignore. Hailey's hunt drive is too strong.
Thanks for sharing these beautiful Nature Friday photos with us. They are some cuties. These are great seeing them together enjoying the day. Have a great rest of your day.
