Big Boy agreed to give me time on his blog today and he is taking the day off.
Early AM Tuesday, on the way to the YMCA, in the dark, I turned onto a street and Bob said look out, and there in front of us was the cutest sight I have seen in ever and ever.
A Family of Raccoons in the middle of the street. Mama and Daddy and FIVE babies.. the smallest babies I have seen.
They were no bigger than a small cat. Above is the size they were, below is what their faces looked like in the bright lights of my car.
I did not get photos, these are from the internet.
the parents and 4 siblings raced to my right and one baby went back to the left. I was terrified to move even slowly because the lone baby was frozen at the side of the street.
We made it past him and they were safe for now..
it was a wonderful heart melting moment.

Wow! I know what this is like! A few years ago, a mom and three baby raccoons tried to cross the street in front of us. In the middle of the street they looked at our car and froze as we stopped. We were all like that for so long, and me WITHOUT a camera!!!

Nice that Big Boy gave you permission to write on his blog - cute story of the raccoon family.
Aww, so adorable. I've had other wild animals split up like that on the road when I'm driving. I had the same reaction, afraid to go because I didn't want the lone one to try and cross while I was moving.
Hello,
They are adorable critters. Except for when they are on my deck. Thanks to BB for sharing his blog.
What a thrill!!! I'd probably have been squealing like a little girl.
Oh I agree what a precious family and those faces!!! OH my perfect markings.
Run free and safe little family
Hugs Cecilia
You were so lucky to see that. When I was a teen, we found a baby raccoon on the side of the road with puncture marks on it. We thought a dog may have killed the rest. Took him to the Vet for expensive treatment and he was our pet for about a year--until he matured. Such wonderful creatures. I have a soft spot for them.
I'll bet seeing that cute family really made you smile, especially seeing those wee ones!
That was a sweet moment. I don't want them in my yard but I wish them happy lives.
We can imagine what an awesome sight that must have been!!!
While they can be a pain as they get into everything we hope they stay safe.
I'm very thankful, as I am sure you are, that you didn't hit any of them. They are so adorable, and it is heartwarming to see a whole family.
Yes, quite cute ... but those little, and soon to be big ... hands are quite capable of removing trash can lids of all kinds and leaving a mess behind in one's yard! Beware the cuteness!
So very cute!
