Black is the Color

Black is the absence of color. Big Boy is Black, we lose him while he is in plain sight. He disappears in the shadows. A few days ago, I came home from Shopping and Bob said from the pool, I had a scare while you were gone, I scanned the yard from the Pool and could not see BB anywhere. I thought if Samar comes home and the dog is gone, she will have a fit. He said he called Big Boy really loud, and his head came up off the grass he was laying in, not 20 feet from where Bob was.

No we do not crate him, this is the crate we have had for 29 years, he goes in it when I am on the computer and daddy is not home... the door is always open

Black is the color of our true love's hair
His face is  so soft and wondrous fair
He truly reminds us of a bear.
The purest eyes of golden brown,
We love the ground, We love the ground.
on which he walks, on which he walks.

Nina Simone wrote Black is the color of my true loves hair. I messed with the lyrics a tad.

Oh my GOSH!! Before I got to the end of your post, I knew I was going to comment with the words to this song...Black is the color of your true love's fur. So what a surprise to see we both had the exact same idea!!!

I have the same problem with Gibbs sometimes since he is mainly black. I often think I should have named him Ninja because he moves without being seen or heard

Hello, He is beautiful. It is funny he can disappear in plain sight. Happy Friday, enjoy your day and weekend!

I love the words to the song/poem. Too funny how BB just fades into the shadows...you are a lover of shadows right. I think it is so precious that he has a special place that he has claimed...he is surely AT HOME

What a SUPER twist on this song! :) That must've been quite the scare for Bob, thinking BB had disappeared! I once accidentally stepped on Tom's black dog … getting out of bed in the middle of the night … and was badly bit. (Poor guy; I'd have bit me, too.)

I've heard the color yellow is the most visible of the entire color wheel (remember when cities began using yellow fire engines?) … how'd BB feel about a new collar?

That's hilarious! Maybe he needs a dayglow collar

"BB" reminds me of my very first horse, an ancient adopted racehorse who had been abandoned. His real name was Brown Bert - but I decided that was depressing, so I called him BB.

Black dogs on a dark carpet in dim light is an accident waiting to happen. And has almost happened here. He's so beautiful.

He may be hard to spot sometimes...but he sure is a beautiful, shiny black. Love all the pictures you are getting of him. Hugs
