Jakes Journal Sept 22 2018

Our sweet boy wants to be outside with us, but the 92 degree heat bothers him. He stands between the blinds waiting on us to come in.  He had a good day yesterday, 24 hours of acting his normal self, sleeping during the day and we all slept from 7:30 to 3:30 for the first time in 3 weeks. He gets up at 2;15 which makes us so tired we changed to 7:30 bedtime. We sleep when he sleeps.

After his Good day, he collapsed when he got up, but walks fine after we stood him up. His hind end is going, the Carprofen is every 12 hours and keeps him walking. He did his half mile walk with Daddy and wandered around sniffing. Twice he tripped over something and got stuck and had to be rescued. His sight gets worse by the day. It breaks my heart to see him looking for me and I try to stay near by and touch him.  The tumor that was removed from his eye a year ago, has returned and is growing rapidly.

Happy to hear about his good day and that you two were able to get some sleep. Sorry he collapsed but glad he did his walk with daddy. Sorry to hear about the tumor coming back. ((Hugs))

You are TRUE animal lovers. Changing your sleeping patterns to fit in with his. Wonderful. A half-mile walk is fantastic.

Poor Boy, poor all of you. At least he knows he HAS both of you, and you are nearby. You are so dedicated.

That last photo … oh, my heart! I know y'all are cherishing every good day. 1/2 a mile is good, isn't it?

Sweet Jake, must be so hard for you. Remember when my old Bridgette went through the same. Sending lots of hugs.
