Big Boy and The 3 Birds

Mr and Mrs built a nest in our bush, Mama moved the nest because she thought it was dangerous for the birds. They built another one and MOVED in... they looked just like the pics above.

Old photo of the bush, right now it has no flowers due to drought.
Mama was afraid there would be little mouths chirping and crying. Mama stole these pics off the internet to tell you my story. That yellow arrow is a bird nest with a Mama sitting on 2 eggs. NOPE! not a whale below, This is me laying underneath the bush... to be continued...

Prior Post  about Jake and cardinals, which is where the arrow bush came from...

I imagine that mama cardinal is a bit frantic having BB laying there.

Hello,

I think the Cardinal is worrying too much. BB is a nice dog. Have a happy day!

Oh my goodness, I just can't imagine how this ends! I hope the babies survived and fledged. We have house finches that build a nest in the bush up against our house every single year. It is right in front of our living room picture window. The babies have NEVER survived! There are cats everywhere here, and I mean everywhere. Not to mention big mean birds who will ruin the eggs. Yet they persist each year. This year it is not the finches, it is a robin.

We think Jake is protecting that mama birdie and her eggs!

We mean BB. Don't know why we said Jake. The morning coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

I hope and pray BB's brood fare better than ours. Only last Friday, Tom came in all excited. "We've a new arrival!" Everyday he'd sit on his bench watching momma and poppa fly back and forth. Then yesterday I noticed the side of the nest looking disheveled. We took a closer look … and no baby bird. There were two more eggs … looked just like your picture (middle, 2nd from the left), but momma hasn't been back. I'm hoping that neighborhood rogue cat didn't get them both. Sometimes I hate Mother Nature.

How special to watch baby Cardinals grow up! We know that you will be respectful, Big Boy.

We don't blame the Cardinal for relocating...we had a big problem with "disappearing" cardinal babies when we lived in Texas because of some slithering backyard dwellers!

I moved a wreath I had hung on the front door cause a bird kept flying out of it. Didn't want her to build a nest. I cried when the nest and several eggs fell out of the back. :(

They certainly were determined to be in that bush! Hope they do okay.

Those leafs to the left side of BB looks like a big fat cat out of focus! At first glance...some say I have an over active imagination.
