Wordy Wed - Hate that Beau

I am outside doing you know what, Mama took away my blog today

Beau listens to every word we say, he talks to us, like a person.

He was laying with head in bobs lap, I was on the other end, The Weather Girl was talking and I looked up and said I HATE that Bow (she had a huge UGLY ,in my humble opinion,  bow in the middle of her pants top)

Beaus Head snapped up, he turned and looked at me and said YOU HATE ME MAMA? we laughed our selves silly.

I kissed and hugged and said I Love You Beau... Many Times.

Again I am sitting on the sofa, with ice pack on my leg, commenting on your blogs, he comes and stands the top half of his HUGE head, and front feet only on the sofa, looming over my face, staring into my eyes.

What do you want? , he goes and gets Orange Thing. Oh! Ok! I say to daddy I will take him out, I need to MOVE..

I throw the ball once, on 2nd throw he stops and pees 2 gallons.

Third throw, he grabs the ball, starts back to me, makes a U turn and goes up by the gate, does his Buffalo DUMP, runs back towards me and goes straight to the door, saying, I am done, I just needed to work all that out.

Goes inside, lays down behind the sofa and goes to sleep. He is our only dog that has ever slept Behind The Sofa.. we are trying to figure out why.

About Orange Thing, he is hilarious if he can't see ALL THREE of the Chuckit Balls. If only one is in sight, he hunts until they are all where he can see them.

He can count to three, that we know

He found one of those Balls that had been missing for 6 months. We had hunted every place in the house.

A few days after he got here, he kept pushing his head in the book case, we could not figure out why.

I Removed 3 books and there was the ball behind the books.

All three chuckit balls were here when we got him, I threw one in the car to take with us, not knowing it is the ONLY toy he will play with.

We have tried Tug ropes, stuffed toys, giant balls that giggle, giant balls with holes. ONLY the orange thing!  And we can't have indoor balls and out door balls, he has to bring them in.

Sometimes we hide one of the balls, just to watch him find it.

And we believe one day he will TELL us why he doesn't like other toys.

This is all so interesting to me! I am trying to think of a human counterpart, but cannot. I guess if a toy is his favorite, then he figures why bother with anything else. Maybe he likes to sleep behind the couch because it is enclosed and makes him feel safe?

He is his own person for sure...I love hearing all the things he does. He is like Copper...lucky to have the Mama he now has.

I'm glad that you noticed that too... I know they understand every word... because love needs no goole translator ;o)

OF COURSE Beau can count to three.
I can't believe you might think he wouldn't be able to!

angel Jade had a variety of toys... but there was one which was supreme. The Bat Toy came first unless lost in bushes. But that she would accept another toy - or ball... but whenever TBT was recovered from the bushes, that was that. And she would communicate by looking me right in the eye and using her paw to direct attention. Oh yeah. Our pups are smart!!! YAM xx

If only you could read their minds. It would be interesting to know the answers to why he has those habits.

Hello,
Dogs are very smart, they know a lot of words. Beau loves his orange balls and needs to keep all 3 of them in his sight. Good Boy Beau!

Beau really is a most interesting character and we're glad he tells you what he wants and when he wants it!

Beau is a smart boy, really smart! I love pets that can really talk to us. Maybe Beau was crate trained. Supposedly dogs who have been crate trained from the start love having their own little space, especially to sleep. Maybe that's why Beau sleeps behind the couch?

BOL the 60's styles have returned....and unfortunately some needed to stay in the time capsule. Lots of the female anchors here are wearing Dresses with bell bottom sleeves. I'm 100% sure they cannot eat or do much else but stand and read in them. Such a bothersome design

That was one interesting bathroom break. I laughed out loud.

Beau is a smart pup. He'll continue to amaze you I'm sure.

Have a fabulous day. Scritches to Beau. ♥

Beau really loves and needs his orange balls. He would be deeply unhappy with my couch that eats all of Faith's orange balls. Every time I read about him and his balls, I go and move the couch so Faith can have her balls. Her soon to be gone again balls.

That first part? NO-one can convince me that dogs don't understand human speak. Those who believe otherwise, may have a rude awakening someday. Ha!
I could listen to Beau tales all day.

He definitely can count to three. That's really something how attached he is to those balls.
Skye's favorite toy was a green Christmas light bulb. She stole it from Charlie when they lived here. It's been lost a few times and she was so sad. On the other hand she would leave it somewhere and she knew where the somewhere was but so would make us look and look. She would follow us around and pretend like she was looking too. After we gave up she would walk up to us with it in her mouth!!!

You are so lucky that Beau communicates so well. How sweet that he thought you were mad at him and how lucky he is that you understand him so well.

Beau has been such a wonderful addition to your household. He's smart and intuitive and keeps you busy and laughing, things we all need during this COVID time. Give him extra pets and ball throws from all of us.
