Making Hay while the sun shines

My daddy went up on the roof and tossed all the pine straw that had turned to hay in the hot Florida sun down on the ground...   This is what I thought of it..... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sweet smell of squirrels and birds and lizards, while the sun heats me up and of course the camera clicks.

Just look at all those pine needles. That's a pretty cushy bed there and with all those smells inside you must really be enjoying.

It is so funny - what smells good to one does not smell good to another.

I can't recall if Florida uses pine straw for landscaping (like so many in Alabama)? … Nevertheless, you sure make a handsome yard decoration!

Glad you survived your 'home alone' day! We get little skinks that skitter across our bricks, we love chasing them. Bliss to be able to sleep in those natural scents.
