Can Good Dogs Go Bad????

I did not chew the rocker on the rocking chair! I am a good dog, I have heard Mommy say it over and over. I would NEVER chew anything.  My girlfriend Lucy is another story. If she were here, she would have chewed the rocker. She kissed another dog, even though we are a couple. She chewed her Moms sofa, THREE Times... did I say  I did NOT chew the rocker?

Mom said to Daddy, did YOU chew the rocker? Did I chew the Rocker? there are only 3 of us in this house, can a good dog go bad?
UMM the answer must be yes. Because I am admitting to you and Lucy I did chew the rocker. I don't know why and I am very sorry. BUTT the rocker was already chewed by angel Max 15 years ago. I only chewed 3 pieces off, so that's not all bad. Right?  By the way, Lucy has offered me advice on my next bath... Here   Isn't she beautiful?

Mom here, Why would a good dog, on day 97 in our home Chew The Rocker? anyone?

To me, this is not a bad dog thing. Dogs just instinctively love to chew. The rocker looks like a big curved stick. End of story! BAD is baring teeth, biting, and so so. And why would he do this after so long? Answer is that he finally feels at home and at ease enough to tackle that big curved stick. He is finally relaxing his inhibitions.

I can't say why BB did but maybe because it had already been chewed and looked like it was something that was supposed to be.
We had a dog who chewed a rocker the same way as this one. That same dog also chewed an edge of a coffee table. Then when I had Duke, he loved to chew flip flops. I went several years in a row where I bought quite a few pairs of flip flops because I forgot to put mine away and he destroyed them.

BB thought the rocker was a big bone.
Astro thought a arm on the recliner was a stuffy
he pulled all the fabric and stuffing out.

yes, a combo of feeling at home and also that there would still be traces of Max on that rocker and thus it would seem like an invite! In case BB tries this again, a short sharp clap and "NO!" (repeated each time he shows interest in that rocker) will soon teach him there are some lines even mummy and daddy want to draw. You may also be discovering part of why he ended up with you... YAM xx

Big Boy... you need to listen when mummy or daddy tell you "NO!", okay? They love you, but there are some things you need to leave alone. You and Lucy make a fine couple... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

I think it is kind of funny - BUT - it was not my rocker. I am just off mine (rocker - lol)

OMD, BB, I'm so PROUD of you for defending your home against those evil woodchucks! I know that you're sad you didn't get them before they got part of the rocker, but that's a small price to pay for the safety of your entire home!!

Methinks the devil made you do it, BB. (Remember Flip Wilson?)
My girls did the very same thing to my grandmother's rocker! Granted, I'm not that fond of it, but I worry about someone getting a splinter in their throat.

He must feel a safe, secure member of the family. (Also, BB stick to your story....a squirrel could have come in and chewed the rocker. They're known to do that--and other naughty stuff dogs get blamed for.)

BB never EVER no never admit guilt w/o an attorney present. Personally, I think it was that huge squirrel that I wrote about in my poem.

Mom: Very odd after all this time. Perhaps there was some food dropped there. Cats are often chewers and they hate the taste of lemon wonder if dogs hate it too. Is this the only furniture he has chewed?

Hi paws to you BB, good job. Er, I mean, no, no do not chew the rocker. Now you have to write a note of apology to your Mom (and mean it). Pee S, I did the same thing to a chair leg after I got real comfy and confident that this was really my new home. It's a "thing." XOXOX Lucy

I guess you didn't want to wait for me to find out and snitch on ya', do you, BB. Xena

Oh BB...We have to think you chewing on the rocker is a good thing, because you are feeling safe and secure in your new home(and you know your Mama won't bark at you too loud).

We don't think you are a bad dog and that rocker is not near as important as you are in our opinion. Hugs and nose kisses
