Little Green Heron

The Green Heron is relatively small. about 17 inches. CLICK HERE for info on them on Wikipedia
the beautiful green stuff is SLIME floating on the water in a ditch at the park.
Above and below is one that was fishing, while swinging on a rope between to sail  boats. Our library faces the yacht club and is a great place for spotting water birds.

It is a beautiful bird, we don`t have these birds in Norway.
I wish I could take nice pictures of birds like you.

You got some GREAT shots here!!! Is this the same as the green-backed heron? Looks the same. They always look more blue-backed to me!

These are fabulous pictures!!! I have never seen the little green herons. I'm thinking this:you need to change the name of this blog and make it all about the birds, bugs, any kind of animals there, your dogs too. Florida has so much cool stuff, and your pictures are just as good as any wildlife photographer.

Great shots Sandra. I love the last photo, he looks like he's hamming it up just for your camera.

Great shots. I've never seen a little green heron before. Your library there is a neat place to hang out. It's a wealth of photographic material

Fantastic post. It looks great on my computer. I love the pics of the Green heron on the boat and dock. I believe the green stuff on the water is called duck weed. Look at it closley it is a plant.

What fantastic close ups!! You've done a really super job with this series! Looks like a terrific place to grab a book, cup of coffee or something refreshing and snap pictures! I enjoyed them this morning!
